      I booked 2 separate trips with World Mystery Trips without having any experience with them. An acquaintance of mine told me about this company and had traveled with them before. Our first trip was to ****** and ***** from September 11, 2023 to September 21st, 2023. After arriving in ****** and being stuck outside of the airport for 2 hours waiting for our ride that was supposed to be there, my sister reached out to the company via the ******** message group they created for our trip. After an unpleasant encounter with the owner of World Mystery Trips, *****, and after realizing that our second trip would be the same format as the ***** trip, we decided that it would be unsafe to travel with World Mystery Trips to ***** and we requested a refund. ***** claimed that there would be no refunds and the trip was going to have a guide. We told her we would go if it we were not able to get a refund and if there was going to be a guide. I asked if she had ever been to ***** before, because they had never been to ***** where they planned our trip that I was currently on. She never responded to my question and blocked me out of the india message group which tells me she has no intention on taking us to *****, and she also has no intention on providing us with a refund. Air India offers full refunds for $250 and we offered to pay that and any other credit card feed she incurred. She also claims to have a sold out trip and a wait list so she would be able to fill our spots without any trouble. Instead she has stopped all communication. I believe I have been scammed out of $1350 that was my deposit I have paid so far to *****. I would like help with the resolution to get my deposit back. I was also on the ***** trip and had to cancel a couple of excursions that I was told in writing I would received a refund, that amount is $120.33. I have a lot of documents I can send, too many to upload.

      ***** this is so unprofessional. I'm really just speechless over all of this. I said I was frustrated for being left outside the airport for over an hour because the company had not planned an appropriate sized vehicle. I was annoyed with them, not with you for the record, but you responded in such an aggressive and unprofessional way, yeah. I was floored. And extremely angry that a professional company I had hired would respond in that way. I did have a lovely time in ***** until my son got sick, and everyone on the trip was great. So, probably good for both of us in the end that you weren't there. 
      I have legitimate safety concerns about *****. You say it is guided, but you refuse to answer my sister's questions about that and you also advertise optional tours (presumably Viator?) which makes us feel like it is probably not actually a fully guided tour. Have you been to ***** before? Are you the guide? I have been there, and it is actually my most favorite country on earth so far. But it does require a local guide and a bus to do safely. I walked down the street in **** (which is quite a small town - I would never in a place like *****) and I was sexually assaulted and also spit on. I would love to go back to *****, but I want to go in a safe manner and from what we've seen of the way your company operates we do not feel assured of our safety. 
      Now all of this being said - do you really want us on your ***** trip? Because I will not just let you keep my 4k because you didn't like a text from me. The world doesn't work like that. I am also uncomfortable going if you cannot reassure me of the safety measures you have in place, but currently you have me kicked out of your group, blocked from even seeing the existence of your ******** page, and you and ****** have both gone radio silent on my sister and I. If it is fully guided as you claim, then we will go. I'm not just going to let you keep my money. But especially if you're going on that trip - do you want us there? Before I reached out to you to request a refund I did my research. Refunding me and making me go away would cost $860 (or something like that) in total penalties plus your credit card processing fees, all of which I said I am happy to absorb so we can part peacefully. Is traveling around the world with me a better alternative to you? If so fine. I'm a big girl. But I question whether you are based on your behavior. 
      I am not asking you to do anything that will cost you any money. You have 6 months to fill those slots and it appears already sold out so clearly the demand is there. Is this really a hill you want to die on? 
      Because if you think ignoring me will make me go away, it will not. Let me be clear that this is not about money - my pockets are plenty deep to fight you on this, and I will. This is about principle. I paid for a service and instead I've gotten a lot of unprofessionalism and abuse that gives me legitimate reasons to feel unsafe. 
      If you refund me now minus your costs, I will go away and you will never hear from me again. If you don't, or if you choose to continue ignoring me, you will hear from my lawyer. I already had a consult with him this afternoon and have forwarded everything over. As you know I live in ********, so taking you to court is pretty cut and dry. By the way, did you know Opal is a lawyer? She's pretty shocked at your behavior as well and said I should absolutely be able to get my money back. The whole group knows how you've been acting. Why would you do that to your business? Word of mouth and reviews are EVERYTHING to a business. You're really choosing poorly here. I know that you're new in business (we've looked up your registration already, etc.) I know you only registered about a year ago although clearly you were operating unregistered before that. Business is hard. I've been doing it all my adult life. Just today I had a customer lose her mind because her dog bit my employee. People are not always rational, and it's also not usually about you. You'll learn in time to take things less personally. 
      So, once again, 3 options - 1. You can refund me, less your costs, and I will part ways with you peacefully. 2. You can accompany me to ***** - sounds fun! Actually I don't know if you'll be there or not but I will go if you're not willing to go the way of #1, and I'll tell everyone on that trip about this too, because well yeah of course I will. And also if it does turn out not to be fully guided I will dispute the charges with my credit card for false advertising. If it is then I'm sure I'll have a lovely time - ******************. 3. - You can ignore me, or decide you're going to be spiteful and cancel my trip but refuse to refund, etc. That option will involve lawyers, courts (and you don't look too good in these communications I've got to tell you), the better business bureau, online review sites, and lots of word of mouth. My sister found you originally through a networking group in ******. My sister is a BIG networker in ******. Do you really want this story told in those circles until the end of time? She's good at grudges. 
      So, 1., 2., or 3. *****? If you don't respond I will assume you've chosen 3.

      We fundamentally deny their allegations. They have have stalked, harassed and defamed us , so much that we turned the communication about the matter to our lawyer who is not related to us, as they claim.

      The terms and conditions for flights are as stated and is the norm to be unable to change or cancel without penalties. They are signed waivers agreeing to the terms and conditions and it is all over our web site. We also had an informational video call. with them and they did not address any questions or concerns. Unfortunately they only hear what they want to hear and are unable to accept the policies. 

      The entire group of 4 has valid flights booked to *****.

      We suggested they file with their travel insurance to file claims since they changed their minds.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      This is a lie. I have all of our conversations documented via text. She asked me if I wanted to cancel and I said I did if I could get a refund. She said I could not get a refund so I told her I did not want to cancel. I then asked a few questions about the trip, if it was guided and if she had ever been there herself since I was on a trip of hers to ***** where she admitted via text she has never actually been there! She stopped all communication at this point. 

      I told her I was still going. I never canceled. I had asked to cancel if I could get a refund and she said no refunds so I said right away I would not cancel and she stopped all communication and took me out of her groups. I have done nothing wrong except to ask her about some questions for my safety and she ignored me, kicked me out, and is now lying.

      This is the text thread I had with ***** showings that when she said it was not refundable I said I still wanted to go. I asked her a few more questions and she never responded and ghosted us. I cant believe that when she reached out asking if I was cancelling and I said yes if I can get a refund and she said I could not get a refund so I said right away I would still go if there are no refunds, that would make it so she has the right to cancel us?!!!! We said we were still going so why is she not going to take us? At this point she is not taking us and keeping our money.

      ***** mentioned that there was already a call and we didnt ask any of these questions. The call was for *****. I was not on the call, my sister was on the call. Even ***** was not on the call it was her assistant ******. We have never had a call for the ***** trip

      1. We refunded the unused excursions for the ***** trip on Sept. 29, 2023; receipts attached.

      2. We refunded the costs for the ***** trips due to terms and conditions of Air India and WMT.

      3. Both have contested funds through their credit card companies.

      4. We have attempted communication with them however it was not attainable due to relentless bullying, stalking, threats and defamation. We referred them to our attorney for all communication, but they refuse to respond and continue to harass us through BBB.

       They were and maintain, through demands above and beyond reason, that they are *********** refunds despite the fact they signed the waiver and release with terms and agreements.

      I did receive the refund for the excursions in ***** and $820 of the $1350 that I paid. This will not be resolved for me until I receive the $1350 in full that I paid.

       

      I have not disputed with my credit card and there has been no harassment done by me. I have only turned in this complaint, world mystery trips is no where online to review. 

      I have proof that I wanted to go on the trip and she ghosted me and kicked me out. Therefore I will be requiring a full refund.

      I booked 2 trips with World Mystery Trips - one to ****** and ***** that just happened, one to ***** for March ****. We believed these to be guided tours. When we arrived in ******** we discovered that no representative from the company would be there, and the transportation they had booked did not show up. I reached out for help and ***** was very aggressive and snarky in her reply. I felt very attacked. We began to feel concerned that the ***** trip would also be unguided. We have been to ***** before and knew that would not be a safe situation. We reached out and requested more information about the safety measures being taken on the trip which she refused to supply. We requested a refund minus any cancellation fees. She stated no refunds and then removed us from the ***** group, which we took as her saying she would not take us OR provide reasonable refunds. We told her if she was not willing to refund we would still go, and she has ignored our communications ever since. Then she had her son in law call me on a Saturday morning and threaten legal action against me if I didn't go away. It is unacceptable for her to kick us off a tour because she has decided she doesn't like us but not refund the money we paid. I am happy to provide documentation for all of this but it is a lot so i would prefer to email it in if possible.

      It is not unusual for flights , in fact it is the norm, for flights and tours to be non-refundable. She has a valid flight and it is guided. Regretfully, she does not listen no hears anything she doesn't want to and has lied about virtually everything.

      We fundamentally deny all of the allegations and had to hire a lawyer to handle the relentless harassment, stalking and defamation. Our lawyer is not our son-in-law.

Please refund me for the amount paid minus the $840 in penalties.

I said I was frustrated for being left outside the airport for over an hour because the company had not planned an appropriate sized vehicle. Have you been to ***** before? Are you the guide? I have been there, and it is actually my most favorite country on earth so far. But it does require a local guide and a bus to do safely. I walked down the street in **** (which is quite a small town - I would never in a place like *****) and I was sexually assaulted and also spit on. I would love to go back to *****, but I want to go in a safe manner and from what we've seen of the way your company operates we do not feel assured of our safety. 
      Now all of this being said - do you really want us on your ***** trip? Because I will not just let you keep my 4k because you didn't like a text from me. The world doesn't work like that. I am also uncomfortable going if you cannot reassure me of the safety measures you have in place, but currently you have me kicked out of your group, blocked from even seeing the existence of your ******** page, and you and ****** have both gone radio silent on my sister and I. If it is fully guided as you claim, then we will go. I'm not just going to let you keep my money. But especially if you're going on that trip - do you want us there? Before I reached out to you to request a refund I did my research. Refunding me and making me go away would cost $860 (or something like that) in total penalties plus your credit card processing fees, all of which I said I am happy to absorb so we can part peacefully. Is traveling around the world with me a better alternative to you? If so fine. I'm a big girl. But I question whether you are based on your behavior. 
      I am not asking you to do anything that will cost you any money. You have 6 months to fill those slots and it appears already sold out so clearly the demand is there. Is this really a hill you want to die on? 
      Because if you think ignoring me will make me go away, it will not. Let me be clear that this is not about money - my pockets are plenty deep to fight you on this, and I will. This is about principle. I paid for a service and instead I've gotten a lot of unprofessionalism and abuse that gives me legitimate reasons to feel unsafe. 
      If you refund me now minus your costs, I will go away and you will never hear from me again. If you don't, or if you choose to continue ignoring me, you will hear from my lawyer. I already had a consult with him this afternoon and have forwarded everything over. As you know I live in ********, so taking you to court is pretty cut and dry. By the way, did you know Opal is a lawyer? She's pretty shocked at your behavior as well and said I should absolutely be able to get my money back. The whole group knows how you've been acting. Why would you do that to your business? Word of mouth and reviews are EVERYTHING to a business. You're really choosing poorly here. I know that you're new in business (we've looked up your registration already, etc.) I know you only registered about a year ago although clearly you were operating unregistered before that. Business is hard. I've been doing it all my adult life. Just today I had a customer lose her mind because her dog bit my employee. People are not always rational, and it's also not usually about you. You'll learn in time to take things less personally. 
      So, once again, 3 options - 1. You can refund me, less your costs, and I will part ways with you peacefully. 2. You can accompany me to ***** - sounds fun! Actually I don't know if you'll be there or not but I will go if you're not willing to go the way of #1, and I'll tell everyone on that trip about this too, because well yeah of course I will. And also if it does turn out not to be fully guided I will dispute the charges with my credit card for false advertising. If it is then I'm sure I'll have a lovely time - ******************. 3. - You can ignore me, or decide you're going to be spiteful and cancel my trip but refuse to refund, etc. That option will involve lawyers, courts (and you don't look too good in these communications I've got to tell you), the better business bureau, online review sites, and lots of word of mouth. My sister found you originally through a networking group in ******. My sister is a BIG networker in ******. Do you really want this story told in those circles until the end of time? She's good at grudges.

      It is not unusual for flights , in fact it is the norm, for flights and tours to be non-refundable. She has a valid flight and it is guided. Regretfully, she does not listen no hears anything she doesn't want to and has lied about virtually everything.

      We fundamentally deny all of the allegations and had to hire a lawyer to handle the relentless harassment, stalking and defamation. Our lawyer is not our son-in-law.

I would love to go back to *****, but I want to go in a safe manner and from what we've seen of the way your company operates we do not feel assured of our safety. 
      Now all of this being said - do you really want us on your ***** trip? Because I will not just let you keep my 4k because you didn't like a text from me. The world doesn't work like that. I am also uncomfortable going if you cannot reassure me of the safety measures you have in place, but currently you have me kicked out of your group, blocked from even seeing the existence of your ******** page, and you and ****** have both gone radio silent on my sister and I. If it is fully guided as you claim, then we will go. I'm not just going to let you keep my money. But especially if you're going on that trip - do you want us there? Before I reached out to you to request a refund I did my research. Refunding me and making me go away would cost $860 (or something like that) in total penalties plus your credit card processing fees, all of which I said I am happy to absorb so we can part peacefully. Is traveling around the world with me a better alternative to you? If so fine. I'm a big girl. But I question whether you are based on your behavior. 
      I am not asking you to do anything that will cost you any money. You have 6 months to fill those slots and it appears already sold out so clearly the demand is there. Is this really a hill you want to die on? 
      Because if you think ignoring me will make me go away, it will not. Let me be clear that this is not about money - my pockets are plenty deep to fight you on this, and I will. This is about principle. I paid for a service and instead I've gotten a lot of unprofessionalism and abuse that gives me legitimate reasons to feel unsafe. 
      If you refund me now minus your costs, I will go away and you will never hear from me again. If you don't, or if you choose to continue ignoring me, you will hear from my lawyer. I already had a consult with him this afternoon and have forwarded everything over. As you know I live in ********, so taking you to court is pretty cut and dry. By the way, did you know Opal is a lawyer? She's pretty shocked at your behavior as well and said I should absolutely be able to get my money back. The whole group knows how you've been acting. Why would you do that to your business? Word of mouth and reviews are EVERYTHING to a business. You're really choosing poorly here. I know that you're new in business (we've looked up your registration already, etc.) I know you only registered about a year ago although clearly you were operating unregistered before that. Business is hard. I've been doing it all my adult life. Just today I had a customer lose her mind because her dog bit my employee. People are not always rational, and it's also not usually about you. You'll learn in time to take things less personally. 
      So, once again, 3 options - 1. You can refund me, less your costs, and I will part ways with you peacefully. 2. You can accompany me to ***** - sounds fun! Actually I don't know if you'll be there or not but I will go if you're not willing to go the way of #1, and I'll tell everyone on that trip about this too, because well yeah of course I will. And also if it does turn out not to be fully guided I will dispute the charges with my credit card for false advertising. If it is then I'm sure I'll have a lovely time - ******************. 3. - You can ignore me, or decide you're going to be spiteful and cancel my trip but refuse to refund, etc. That option will involve lawyers, courts (and you don't look too good in these communications I've got to tell you), the better business bureau, online review sites, and lots of word of mouth. My sister found you originally through a networking group in ******. My sister is a BIG networker in ******. Do you really want this story told in those circles until the end of time? She's good at grudges. 
      So, 1., 2., or 3. *****? If you don't respond I will assume you've chosen 3.

      Oh by the way I also have proof that my tickets are still active, so if you do try to cancel my trip after I've told you repeatedly I'm going if you're not willing to work with me on a refund - yeah, that's not going to go well for you. I document everything.

      We never canceled. We expressed our concern about whether the trip would also be unguided, after being surprised that no representative from her company was present in *****, and she actually admitted to the group (once we were already there) she had never been to ***** before. We told her if it was unguided we did not feel safe, as we had been to ***** before and a local guide is a necessary safety measure. . When she said no refunds but it was indeed guided we immediately stated we would go then, and asked some questions about the trip which she refused to respond to. She ignored us and kicked us out of the group, blocked us from her ******** *********. I don't know why she is lying about the lawyer being her son in law - perhaps not "legally" yet, but a quick ****** search of his name showed he is engaged to her daughter so that seems like an odd point to argue. Regardless, the problem here is not that we are not being refunded for a trip we are choosing not to take. It is that she decided we are not going because she didn't like our (completely valid) safety questions, and so now she is not providing the service OR refunding our money. Basically she decided she doesn't like us so no trip, no refund. I have it in writing from her attorney that we are not welcome on the trip. At this point we have paid her $1350 per person, and she is requesting another $250 from each of us if we would like her to transfer the tickets to our name, but the tickets only cost $850. I am not paying $1500 for an $850 ticket. Beyond that she has stated clearly we are not allowed to join the group if we choose to use our tickets. I booked a guided trip to ***** which included flights, hotels, and the group experience. She refuses to deliver that. Given that this whole thing started because we were concerned about being dropped in ***** to fend for ourselves no, we don't want tickets to get dropped in ***** to fend for ourselves. We want what we paid for.

      I have attached copies of the communication from her lawyer to mine stating I am not welcome on the trip. I have attached a copy of my communications with her attempting to resolve this, but she completely ignored me. I have given this business many, many opportunities to do the right thing here.

      1. We refunded the unused excursions for the ***** trip on Sept. 29, 2023; receipts attached.

      2. We refunded the costs for the ***** trips due to terms and conditions of Air India and WMT.

      3. Both have contested funds through their credit card companies.

      4. We have attempted communication with them however it was not attainable due to relentless bullying, stalking, threats and defamation. We referred them to our attorney for all communication, but they refuse to respond and continue to harass us through BBB.

       They were and maintain, through demands above and beyond reason, that they are *********** refunds despite the fact they signed the waiver and release with terms and agreements.

      I have responded twice to this dispute but I can not tell my reply and attachments are going through. Each time I click on "proceed", the page restarts.

      I have done everything I can but communication with ***** is not possible due to her chaos. All communication should go through our legal team as I do not feel safe with ***********

      This business owner is out of control. Trying to make it sound like I am the problem (she completely ignored my emails - is trying to reach a company I paid for a service "chaotic"?) and claiming I am bullying her by utilizing the BBB, which is literally what it exists for. This owner is chaotic, and I cannot deal with her anymore so I did indeed file a dispute with my credit card company. I feel like I gave her a lot of chances to do the right thing here. I'm done. 

      And NO, she did not refund me as she claims. Absolutely ridiculous.
