On Sat. Dec 16th I brought my car to Mineke in ******* for an oil change. Once completed, I paid for the services and left. My car was smoking a little but I chalked it up to oil spillage from the change. I drove immediately home and after about an hour I went back out. However, this time when I started my car, the smoke was bellowing out every where and the check engine light came on so I drove it straight back. I was asked to pop the car hood and when I did, it revealed that the cap was left off after the oil change. The cap was reasserted and the light was turned off. I left the shop and drove back home again. Later on that day when I took the car out again, the check engine light came back on. I called Minekee and was told to go to **** **** and have them check the code for why the engine light was on and come back on Monday with that info. When I arrived on Monday the manager looked at the code and said he had no idea what it meant and to take it to the dealership. His last words to me as I left were "let me know if I need to reimburse you for anything". I brought it to the dealership and to make a long story short, it ended up costing me 3213.89. There was nothing wrong with my car prior to bringing it in for the oil change. This is a direct result of the mechanic's negligence of not putting the cap back on. I was told by the manager of Mineke that I would have to talk to the District Manager about any sort of reimbursement. He gave me the gentleman's phone number and I tried calling him twice but he is not returning my phone calls. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with someone from the BBB to get into more information about what occurred. My phone number is ###-###-####. I am looking to get the full amount I paid to the dealership back along with the amount I paid for the oil change and money paid for transportation for a week!
