Glitter Craze hired a musical act my company represents for a private party. They had previously hired us for another event with no issue the past year. Due to our prior business handlings with them we did not ask for a deposit or a contract this time, which was a major mistake on our end and certainly not common practice with our company. Tammy, the owner of Glitter Craze cancelled on us only a few hours before leaving for the event, after thousands of dollars of musical equipment was rented and purchased for the event, and the entire band and sound team was secured, who we wound up having to pay out of our own pocket for their time and loss of a day's work. Tammy told us that the event was unable to continue due to her mother-in-law being sick at their home, however, we were seeing livestreams, videos, and photos being posted from the event online. After arguing with Tammy all day over paying us the money we were owed, after reserving this date for her for several months and already outlaying significant expenses, she told us to send her an invoice to review. We sent it, and she has gone missing on us since. After this, we had researched Tammy and her husband and saw many news articles that he was arrested for allegedly embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from three businesses after a three-year investigation conducted by the Detective Bureau of the ******* Police Department. This does not come as a surprise after the way we were treated. Beware.
