We put down a deposit on a grave monument at beginning of the year. It was supposed to be ready by August- September the latest. Still not ready and he doesn’t know when it will be ready.Business response

Please allow me to explain the delay in final setting of this monument. With 42 years of experience in the granite industry I have learned something of the “new normal” pertaining to completion time frames post Covid, especially custom imported monuments.
Since Covid the logistics has changed dramatically. From shortage and rising costs of shipping containers to clearing customs and being confronted with a logjam at ports nationwide. Also impacted has been the trucking industry. All these factors have delayed delivery.
Once a monument has reached a granite center, ours being in ***** **, supply chain issues has slowed production. The rubber stencil essential for engraving has been in short supply.
What used be a 5/6 month time frame for completion has increased by months. Of the 3 custom imported monuments I sold this year
1 has taken 8 months, this particular monument will take 9 months and a 3rd took 10 months.
It should be known that I personally have done everything possible to speed up the process.
I am sensitive to my customers desire for final setting of a monument, they have entrusted me to provide a memorial of the finest quality for their departed loved ones and I take great pride in having consistently accomplished that goal for 42 years.
With all that said I expect to receive delivery of this monument on December 5th and anticipate final setting that week.
