On April 11, 2022 Ms. ***** brought her 2008 ***** *** in for a Check Engine light diagnosis.  Our senior diagnostic technician retrieved DTC (fail code) P0010 (VTC oil control valve malfunction) from the on board computer. Wiring to VTC actuator was good and replacement of the VTC actuator valve was necessary for replacement as well as a torn intake boot (dry rotted).  Upon further inspection technician noted broken wires in engine harness as well as a body ground cable.  During service the customer agreed to replacement of the harness as well. Once completed, the vehicle was operating normally as designed and without any fail codes returning during the final road test.  After vehicle was picked up the client returned  later with the check engine light back on (approx. 30 miles).  Our technician retrieved a new code stored in system, not previously stored on first visit.  Code P2263 (turbo performance malfunction) - troubleshooting this new code showed a failure in the vehicle’s turbo charger.  After further discussion with the client they had previously had an aftermarket wastegate installed (not at our facility) that was purchased from **** (as shown by client to the advisor).  Acura tech support does not recommend replacing these as they do not fix a turbo malfunction problem.  Acura cannot even buy these parts separately.  Our technician found the aftermarket waste gate solenoid was stuck open, the technician was able to force close the wastegate with a screw driver, once this was done the check engine light was cleared and would not return.  We deem the turbo charger assembly to be a separate fault from the clients initial concern.  This concern may have been preexisting which is why they had work previously done on it with the aftermarket components from *****

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: they told me the turbo was on excellent condition and it had a great power my turbo is not the problem and the part that I bought was not aftermarket it was original part but beside that they did not fix the issue all they want to do is charge for more money like replacing the whole turbo for $6000 the reason I took it over to Acura was to get the problem solve not to break my pocket and then have the car back in the condition with all the Lights on.

      Sincerely,

      ******** *****
