Contractor put a deck up on our house, that has literally fallen apart. We had to pay another contractor a substantial amount of money to fix the deck. We would like the business owner, Dana, to reimburse us for the amount we had to pay for the new deck. The deck has now cost us double because he did not put it up properly (poor beams, nails, products etc.). Someone could have been seriously injured if the deck fell down with our family on it.Business response

Mr. ******** mentioned he did not want my company to address the issues with his deck as well as he was going to contact his attorney. I told him I understood his position and was sorry he was dealing with the situation at hand and I would forward the info to my insurance company.
I received a letter from his attorney mid October and forwarded the letter to my insurance company. Since Mr. ******** has hired an attorney I am not supposed to address him directly.
FYI, since the beginning of this issue I have contacted a few customers which we have built decks for to be sure there are no issues and the 2 I spoke with are very satisfied with the work we provided.
It's unfortunate the ********* are dealing with the issues and I would have gone back and rectified any and all issues had we been given the opportunity. Unfortunately I cannot pay Mr. ********* demand due to the fallout from the pandemic as well as the current employee availability or the lack of employees.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 1838558. Dana, no insurance company ever contacted our attorney so once again you are not telling the truth. We will proceed accordingly.
