I'm sending this email to report Carcamo Auto repair shop LLC, located at **** ***** ****** in *********** ** who's conducting questionable repairs. I was quoted $4000 to repair my car's engine, I gave a deposit on 01/17/24 of $3000 with a $1000 balance due on pick up. I went to pick up my car on 02/04/23, José(the owner) added an extra $200 for a starter which I was never notified of. Carcamo Auto denied me a proper receipts with the company's name and license number, a bill of sale for the engine and other work done on my vehicle. The auto shop also refused payments made with certified bank checks, money orders, and credit/debit cards. The owner(José) only excepted cash payments only. He told me that he conducted his business this way to avoid taxes. Thank you for your time and consideration.Business response

To our dear customer, We are sorry you weren’t satisfied with your service with us. Correct, we did add an additional $200. Your vehicle made its way to our shop through a tow. We did call you making you aware that your car needs a new starter because it wouldn’t have started without it. We made you aware of the purchasing of your new ******** Starter from the ********** ******** location VIA phone before you even arrived to pay for your fixes. We will happily forward you a receipt in which this was purchased 02/02/2024 05:40 P. We completely understand what you are saying except you did not want to pay in any other form except cash because you did not want to pay taxes. Considering you didn’t even want to pay the additional $200 which was to assure you would have gotten a fresh replacement… We do indeed accept certified bank checks as well as debit/credit. Although it is a common thing our cliental prefers to pay in cash to avoid paying those sticky avoidable taxes. So, myself as a mechanic is trying to make you aware that without paying the additional $200, your vehicle would not have started. It seems silly to pay $4,000 for a vehicle that wouldn’t have started. Regardless we did not accept a check from you as an individual because we weren’t going to trust that you had money in your bank. To assure everyone left happily, we demanded cash from you after you said you refuse to pay taxes. Thank you for your time and consideration for our safety of our company and employees by going straight to the *** to file this report. It is unfortunate that you felt the need to pray on our small business but we are a professional business and we apologize if we made you feel otherwise. Have the day you deserve and feel free to reach out to us for further vehicle care! Carcamo Auto Repair Management.
