We hired BDMS to complete a conversion from an oil burner to a gas boiler heat/hot water combo at our ** home (* **** **** ****** ****** ***** ** *****) in March, 2023. The HVAC system was in order and working before the conversion was undertaken. We were approved for a *** ******** ** **** ******* Loan to pay for the conversion. As Borrower we signed a Satisfaction Certification on 04/07/2023 and BDMS was paid by *** ******** **. Part of this project was to replace the thermostats for the 3 zones of heat in the house. At the time the Satisfaction Certificate was signed the thermostats appeared to be functioning. However, within 1 day, it became obvious that 1 thermostat was not functioning properly: It would not shut off and maintain the proper temperature. Therefore, temperature in house was 10 degrees above setting. 2 thermostats were not functioning at all. Notice was given to BDMS. BDMS gave several unkept dates when the contractor would return to the house and correct the problem. Many of these dates came and went with no contractor showing up, or showing up and NOT fixing the problem. Questions arose in our mind as to whether or not the contractor understood what was wrong and knew how to fix it. Notice was given that he house would be occupied on June 20, 2023 and the thermostats (all 3 of them) needed to be functioning properly. We were promised undivided attention twice more, and both promises were unkept. We were told we were first priority for Monday, June 19, 2023, and contractor would remain at the premises until the job was complete and the thermostats were functioning properly. Contractor only remained on the property for about 2-3 hours, left, and the thermostats do not function. Therefore, the house is now being occupied, and the heating and cooling system is NOT working. This is UNACCEPTABLE, particularly because in addition to us (as borrowers), the ******** ** program has funded this project for a poor performing contractor.
