I purchased my ***** ***** at American auto sales I have purchased vehicles there before. I took out a loan for this vehicle and payed majority of it off. I took the car of the lot and since it’s been in and out of there shop because check engine light oil light vtm4 light is on vt light was on they continued to tell me they do not understand why the lights were on if car was fixed. I took the car to be viewed by another shop and run a diagnostic test and 9 codes popped up for tranny failure.. now 6 months and payments are still being made the tranny goes. I have called numerous of times and keep getting the run around in taking out a second loan for car which I cannot afford. So now there telling me to take my losses on a car that I’m still making payments for and should be under some time of warranty.

Hello my name is ****** ******* I wanted my case reopen with American Auto Sales. After car  being told it was in good condition no lights drivable it turned out to be the total opposite. Car didn’t let a month check engine line and abs light turned on . I repeatedly bring the van back to shop n was told it was drivable it was only a Cadillac converter’s problem and they would fix it. I took out another loan for this vehicle and on the day of Friday the 14th the van would not break when pressing the breaks when driving to work . Which caused me to get into an accident . I have called the dealer and now are giving me the run around yet again . I’m a father of four children and I’m on The verge of loosing my job. I have videos and pictures that I can attach to the complaint. I can be reached at *************

      Hi ******,

This complaint is in regards to the vehicle we sold your wife, Arelis *******. As requested previously we replaced the ***** ***** at no out of pocket cost to you with a *** ****** van. This van was safety inspected per the standards set by the state of ** ***, and that inspection was signed off by myself, as well as your wife Arelis. There were absolutely no safety concerns with the vehicle at the time of pick up, and due to the model year it would be considered an "as-is" vehicle at the time of sale. Some time after your purchase, the check engine light illuminated with a code indicating an issue with the catalytic converter. We explained that we would certainly diagnose the vehicle and discuss options for repair thereafter. You presented for your appointment with considerable damage to the rear end of the vehicle and asked that we address that damage rather than the check engine light, and we obliged. We then scheduled a follow up for the check engine light repair, and you called prior to that appointment explaining that you were involved in an accident. While we are sympathetic to your personal situation, the check engine light and any brake failure would not correlate. The accident unfortunately would be considered operator error. While we are always willing to assist, the cause of your accident would not be our responsibility and as explained to you already, we would not be able to process a new auto loan until your insurance closes out your current balance on the *** ******. Please do not hesitate to call with any questions as we continually strive for 100% customer satisfaction with our budget friendly used cars.
