I contacted this plumbing company on 4/20/22 to go to my rental home in ******** ** to look at the sump pump. They agreed to go and see what the issue was. I received an email later that day stating that they were unable to go but would try to go on 4/21. That was the only communication I received from them until I received an invoice on 5/10/22 for $555.35 for replacement of my sump pump. I never was called or emailed by this plumbing company to let me know what the issue was, was never offered an estimate for the work done and never asked for authorization to complete the work. When I contacted the plumbing company on 5/10/22 I was told "why did you call us then" and then told that they would get my old pump out of the junk pile and reinstall it for additional fee. I do not want this plumber to reenter my home nor do I want them to grab a pump out of their junk pile which at this point might not be mine and at the very least would be impossible to prove that it was not operable due to it being tossed into a junk pile. I am not willing to pay for work that I did not know was done and did not authorize. I have all of our communications in emails which I have attached. I am only willing to pay the reasonable charge that I would have been billed for the plumber to go to assess the situation. Since he installed the pump without authorization and removing it would leave me without a sump pump, I do not believe that I should be required to return it to them.
