I purchased 4 new tires from town fair tire in **** ********. The tires have less than 10,000 miles on them. The expected tread life I was told when they were purchased is 40,000 miles. According to town fair tire policy even if tires were not properly rotated there is a warranty up to 1/2 the tread life of the tire. One of the tires now has a large bubble in the sidewall of the tire and town fair tire is not honoring their own warranty. My wife brought the car in on 11/23/21. I believe Alex from town fair tire sent her away for two reasons. 1. They do not want to pay for the repair or replacement of the faulty tire they sold me. 2. Because they were speaking to a female they thought they could take advantage of her lack of knowledge about automotive products. Pictures available on request

      To Whom It May Concern,

We sincerely apologize for the the issue Mr. ********* and his wife are having and the confusion on our warranties. Mr. ********* is correct in that they have both a with and without care mileage warranty. That covers the tire against premature wear with 2 different mileage expectancies for properly maintained tires and tires that were not maintained as disclosed on the back on their invoice. A bubble in a tire is from one of 2 issues either a road hazard impact or a defect in the tire. The milage warranty doesnt cover the tire for these issues it only covers were and tear. If the bubble is a defect it wouldf be covered pro rata under our workmanship warranty that comes with every tire. If the damage is from a road hazard it would be covered by our road hazard warranty if Mr. ********* purchased it. Unfortunatley they did not but the extended warranty/ This is all outlined on the invoice. The only way to know if the damage is from a road hazard or a defect would be to inspect the tire internally if the damage goes along the seams and there is no bruising it would be a defect. If there is brusing and the damage goes against the seams then we know it is a road hazard from an impact. We would need to inspect the tire to determine what caused the damage. If it is a road hazard we will cover the tire 50% as a courtesy or if it is from a defect we will cover the tire 100% instead of pro rating the tire. To take advantage of this offer please have Mr. ********* contact me at ************** ****** to arrange an appointment with the store.

      Sincerely,

      Rich A****

11/13/2021. ********* **. Townfair tire. Installed snow tires with two different sized lug nuts. Wasn't informed at time of pickup. Noticed in parking lot. Manager gave no apology. Several different stories. Hopefully wheel studs not damage. I would not leave until all the lugs were the correct size. They purchased a lug from an auto parts store. Lug looks different. I was assured that it was the correct cone and thread size. They are the only place to service my tires and this is the second time this happened. I have my daughter's driving this car. What if they needed to remove the tire ? Two different sized lug nuts. How safe is that especially when they had no intention of telling me. This is the second time this happened. Now I'm concerned with the threads on the studs too. Guess I'll find out in the spring when the regular tires are installed. Potentially dangerous situation.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. If Town fair and Mr. A**** guarantee the situation with the studs/lugs are addressed as needed in the spring with the summer tire change over. My concern is that in an emergency situation such as a flat tire the stud does not present a problem. If this does occur, I will contact Mr. A**** and the BBB again.

      Sincerely,

      *********** *******
