I went to East Killingly on scheduled appointment(waited 2 weeks). Air conditioning on my Hyindai Elantra Gt 2013 failed to work. I requested for A/C system to be repaired. I left my car in the shop for diagnosis. The receptionist named ****** called me to tell me that a/c compressor must be replaced. She quoted $740+ for a new one and ****** for refurbished with 2 year part warranty. Since we waited in hot summer for over two weeks for this appointment already we were in stressful situation to look elsewhere for this part by ourselves and then to wait for another appointment to replace this part. We agreed to proceed with a replacement by selecting a refurbished part. There were claims by ****** that parts are hard to find and there "shortage" of them.However, since we agreed to replacement, East Killingly **** care managed to replace this compressor on the same day! Indeed, when I checked availability of these compressors online, there enormous stock of them available where one can buy anew OEM compressor for $213.43 and used/refurbished for as little as $75.( link available)But this is not a basis for this complain. Price gauging for parts is usual among auto repair shops and we are used to it. My complain that work was done incorrectly. A/C is performing poorly after repair. Comparing to time before failure or to other similar car I have: Kia **** 2014 from same Korean manufacturer(with a similar standards for a/c system) it is obviously not working right. We came over to express our concerns, but mechanic was unwilling to talk to us at all, but ******, who is receptionist started to make unprofessional comments and to make dismissal of our concerns. She went far to claim that their business do not provide any warranty on performed labor. Their hourly rate is $102! Is this a new standard of doing business in auto repair industry?While unwilling to address my concerns she started to call 911 on me telling operator that I refuse to leave their premises.UntrueCustomer response

I was limited in available options when submitting my complaint. Yes, I stand by my principle that every professional business must guarantee quality of their performed labor at least for some period of time. Therefore, yes, I am asking for refund on labor part of my bill related to a/c system. I cannot entrust my car to this particular auto shop again, because of numerous work ethic violations noticed and expressed vocally.My original complaint doesn't include those, because of text limitations(2000 characters) you have in your system.

Customer Came in a yr ago to recharge the system and it worked fine for a yr before his ac compressor failed. We offered a direct replacement from manufacturer and a aftermarket refurbished from Oreilly's auto parts. (No Price Gouging, we do not do that all prices are suggested retail price). The manufacturer will guaranty parts and labor but ********* only warranty's parts which was relayed to the customer. We replaced the parts and charged the system with a snap on ac charger and the only available ac recharge gas offered to ct auto shops. The system was vacuum tested recharged and tested ok after replacement of compressor. The customer called ****** after a week, and we were more than happy to help them correct any problems. They brought the vehicle in 1 week after that and we looked at the car and the compressor was still working and the ac was blowing cold air, but he kept saying not like it was before. The car being almost 10 years old there could be a condenser issue or cabin filter problem causing the air to not be as cold as a new system. But as far as the system working it is and everything checked out ok after inspection. He was also using the fan on 3 instead of on high which he said he dont like the fan noise.
Note customer - was very rude the first time he came in after a year that we did not note his ac compressor was going to fail like it was our fault it failed. The system tested ok and worked for a yr before the compressor failed. We have no control over that. Still blamed us for poor workmanship
After fixing the car with refurbished compressor - he came in and complained that we put in a refurbished ac compressor when his wife setup the appointment and agreed to using a aftermarket part. Both times he was very rude until he was the only person in the office with ****** and proceeded to scare her into calling the police. video surveillance available.
