I purchased a 2016 **** ******** from Stop & Go in **** ******* in September, 2023. At the time of purchase, they had it inspected while completing the registration for me. There was no issues noted to be that were found on the inspection nor did I receive any information from the completed inspection. In December the water pump was found to be failing and it had to be replaced. This was a cost of $3290.85. Due to the amount of work, I had to wait until February to have it fixed as I can not be out of a car due to work and the extensive cost of the repair. This resulted in weekly checks of oil in engine and fear when driving that it would overheat. Then, in May the Rear AC lines were found to be leaking by ********* after bringing in the SUV to have the AC recharged as it was not working (which was a charge of $300.00). Due to the level work they were unable to do it and I had to go to another mechanic. This mechanic quoted me $1793.03. Due to the extensive rust on the bottom of the car, they had to modify how this work was completed so that it did not cause additional damage. The final cost was $1104.25. It was also noted at that time, that the Exhaust Muffler was extremely damaged along with the stabilization bar link. These 2 issues would result in the SUV not passing Inspection in September. This work is estimated to cost me $1546.63 and again I will need to plan to be without my car for multiple days resulting in potential expense of renting a car. If this work is not completed, the SUV will not pass ** Inspection in September. I have had this vehicle for 10 months and will have to invest $5900 to have a running vehicle that is legally and safely able to be driving.

Stop and Drive Autos is trying to extort me for $2,000 after the sale. On Thursday 6/20/24 I went to the dealerships to purchase a vehicle. I asked the sales person if I could take a test drive on the highway and if they accepted vehicle trade ins. The sales person said yes to both. Upon return I had decided to purchase the vehicle and they accepted my vehicle as a trade in for a $5,000 dollar cash allowance. I gave the dealership a $500 dollar deposit to hold the vehicle while I got my loan in order. On Friday 6/21/24 I contacted my insurance company and bank and got every thing I needed for the transaction. I proceeded to the dealership gave them the title, check and signed all the paperwork and switched my plate and belongings to our new vehicle. The only thing left to do was for the dealership to file the paperwork with the MA RMV as required by law with financed vehicles, the dealer ship said due to the time and it begin Friday they would not be able to go to the RMV until Monday 6/24, which is ok because in ** you can legally operate a vehicle purchase at dealership for 7 days if they are taking possession of the old vehicle and you are keeping your plate. We took our documents and left, life was good. Monday 6/24/24 I received a call from the dealership not to tell me the registration was ready but instead to tell me the transmission on the trade in was not shifting properly and they wanted me to pay $2,000 dollars for them to install a replacement. I declined to pay the money as it wasn't in our contract. They said if I didn't pay they would cancel the sale, I said we had already signed the titles and bill of sale to witch they responded that they haven't gone to the RMV with them so it wasn't final. I drove my vehicle to them in working order they took it on test drive and noticed nothing wrong with the vehicle. They had opportunity to reject my trade-in prior to the sale. Now they need to do right and get my new car registered before my 7 days are up.
