A. J. Shea Construction, LLC completed the interior of my home in 2018 (another builder completed the framing and exterior of my home years before). I never received the storm doors I had asked for on two exterior doors (I bought them myself and paid someone else to install them). The electricity outlets weren't grounded, causing blown fuses daily until I could get the electricians back again. My water heater overflow tank was not connected to any plumbing; a down-spout was left open in my downstairs mudroom closet, going nowhere -- it would have spewn water everywhere if I hadn't detected it if it had been needed before we discovered the error. (And I detected the open spout when an alarm sounded -- in that same closet -- for the septic pump -- that has been replaced twice already in 5 years.) My air-conditioner stopped working the first year, and the subcontractor would not come fix it, even though it was still under warranty. Another HVAC vendor assisted me. My bathtub install was not level (1/8" off level) and was installed with an exposed "lip" (instead of flush to the tile wall) so that water gathered and was constantly dripping onto my bathroom floor. That caused a slow leak, which caused a mold problem, and 4 years after I moved in (2022), I totally had a tear-down and replacement of the 4-year-old bathroom, and spent $15,000 with another contactor. [A. J. Shea said I must not have closed my shower curtain fully.] 3 different plumbers came and tried to fix the leak, and only the final one noticed that the bathtub was installed off level and incorrectly, and that was the cause of the leak. A. J. Shea is not interested in taking accountability or in providing customer service or satisfaction. I'm not interested in a lawsuit or other legal fight, but I think other potential customers should be aware. A. J. Shea's subcontractors are expensive and are neither thorough nor quality-focused. I do not recommend this contractor or their associates.
