On 6/19/2024, I used my debit card to obtain a credit score report for a visually impaired friend to help with their apartment search. I paid the $1.00 fee and got the score. Today, my account was debited $39.90 for a full membership which I did not order. Attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered, and the company has been labeled a "scammer" and fraudulent by consumer watchdog websites. I live on a disability pension and this debit is putting me and my family into crisis. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.

We are in receipt of Mr. ******* complaint. We are unable to locate an account with the information provided in the complaint. We made contact with the customer on July 11th to obtain the credit card number being charged, however the customer refused to provide any more information we would need to further investigate and resolve this complaint. If Mr. ***** would provide the information required, we would be happy to investigate his claim further, however, at this time we request this complaint be closed.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I have repeatedly returned the business's voicemail messages asking to be called back, and have yet to make contact with them. The business needs to return my calls in a timely manner so that I can provide them the information they're seeking in a live conversation and in a secure fashion. They are not making a genuine effort to reach me, and I ask that the BBB not close this complaint until they have spoken with me.

      Sincerely,

I was told they were going to cancel my membership that I didn't know I signed up for. I was also told I would get a full refund. All they did was cancel my access to my account in their website, and never have me any money back.

Ms. ******** signed up for services from an IP address located in the *********** **, same city and state in which she resides. During that online sign up, she was required to complete a 4-page process that required her date of birth, social security number, full credit card, and billing information, as well as completing a third party identity verification with the credit bureau. As such, Ms. ********  signed up and authorized the charges. Ms. ******** cancelled her services March 3. 2024. Even though she was not eligible for a refund a courtesy refund has been issued, as such we request this complaint be closed.

We do not provide credit scores for senior housing, nor do we provide credit scores for businesses. We provide credit monitoring and access to consumers credit score and reports for the consumer directly. In order to access her credit score, she was required to sign up directly with us. When signing up with us, she was required to complete a four page signup process that clearly and conspicuously stated the offer terms of $1 7 day trial followed by a monthly fee of $39.90 until and unless she canceled, which she agreed to. These terms were also confirmed in the welcome email/transaction receipt emailed to her to the same email address on this complaint.
Ms. ******* contacted customer service on April 11th to cancel. This was after her trial had ended and her first monthly charge was made. Her account was immediately canceled. a courtesy refund has been issued. Our records indicate that Ms. ******* placed only one call to customer service, not three as stated. Ms. ******* was not "deceived" but billed for services that she had agreed to. As Ms. ******* agreed to the membership, was cancelled when she requested, and has been refunded, we request this complaint be closed.

2/7/24 I signed up for a 7 day trial of their services for $1 If you don't cancel it will be billed monthly at $39.99. 2/08/24 I contacted them through their online CHAT to cancel on day One 2/8/24 of trial period. The message confirmed cancellation request. 2/16/24 Charge for $39.99 from my bank account. It should NOT have been charged 2/16/24 I used CHAT with ELIZA, their AI? and then a person, to complain and told them I cancelled this on day 1, why was I charged $39.99 on the 16th? and where is my refund? After arguing with them that I should get a refund, they would always say, "it still needs to be approved before we can actually process the refund" I told her to cancel my account and later found out it STILL wasn't cancelled. 2/21/24 I CHAT with MARIEVI, with same refund request and confirmed again, that I cancelled on 1st. day of trial period. 2/21/24 Called and spoke with a male representative that day, I didn't write the name down. He confirmed that I cancelled through CHAT on the 1st day of trial period. 2/21/24 AT THIS TIME, they STILL HAVEN'T CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT! After I had told them multiple times. 3/05/24 Called and spoke to JESSIE who said refund is still not approved. It's been submitted but never approved. He will put it in an escalation status. 3/13/24 STILL NO REFUND, I am very angry. I want my money back. I feel like they are scamming people. They have stolen my money, and I want it BACK! I followed their rules of "If you cancel in the first 7 days, you will not be charged" I did that! ACCOUNT # ********

I signed up for ******************* and believed that the cost would be $1.00. I called to cancel the service before the free trial date ended and I was still charged $39.90. I called back after the automated system said that a refund would be processed but I never received an e-mail back showing where my account was canceled, or a refund processed, and I was given nothing but the run around from a worker who I finally was able to talk to. He went on and on about how there were inquiries on my account which I knew didn't exist, just to get me to log into the account (which I had not used at all) so that the stealing my money would be justified. He claimed that he was putting in another request but was laughing the entire time and just talking about random things that I didn't ask anything about or had any interest in. I still have not received an e-mail stating that my account was closed, and you can't remove your personal information from their site or close the account yourself. I want a full refund and to cut complete ties with this company.

Ms. ***** signed up for a 7 day trial of services on January 13. It appears she knew and agreed to the fact that after the trial, her service would continue at $39.90 a month, unless she canceled before the end of the trial. That is why she stated she called to cancel before the end of the trial. If she had canceled before the end of the trial, she would not have been billed. Fact is, Ms. ***** didn't contact us to cancel until January 21, the day after her trail ended and was billed. Upon cancelation on January 21, she was sent a cancel confirmation email. As Ms. ***** did sign up and didn't cancel before the end of the trial she was not eligible for any refunds. However, as a courtesy, a refund has been issued. As Ms. ***** did sign up, didn't cancel before the end of her trial, was cancelled when she requested and has now been issued a courtesy refund, we request this complaint be closed.

On the 10th of January 2024 I was filling out applications online. One I was filling out had an opinion survey so I clicked the forward button and as I thought was part of the application (position was cash handling) it requested a one time fee of $1 for a credit check which I was fine with. Then on the 16th of January I went to look at my checking account and see there was a charge for 29.95 from free score****. I was very upset. I agreed to pay exactly $1 nothing more. I sent a couple of screenshots of my dealoback and forth to get a refund and close whatever account I had. I checked the sight today and my card and personal information are still showing. I’ve received Zero emails from them. I have checked all of my emails including spam and junk. Nothing of any confirmation which they say they will email within 6 hours. I’ve been trying for 3 days now and could use some assistance. I did this evening find some reviews calling them fraudulent, going through the same situation.

We are not sure what application Ms. ******* was signing up.  Our signup, which is for credit monitoring as well as access to a consumers credit scores and reports, is a 4 page signup process that required the persons date of birth, social security number, full credit card, and billing information, acceptance of the offer details, which are clear and conspicuous, as well as completing an identity verification with the credit bureau. Ms. ******* provided the email address of ************************* during sign up and there were multiple emails sent to that email address. These emails included a welcome email which outlines the terms of the offer and provides information on how to cancel.  On January 8 Ms. ******* proceeded  to log into her account and view her credit reports and scores, she then returned on four more occasions to view this information . Ms. ******* contacted customer service via the online chat option on January 16 and requested her account to be cancelled and refunded. Her account was cancelled and even though she was not eligible for a refund, a courtesy refund was issued. As Mr. ******* account was cancelled a courtesy refund was issued. We request the complaint now be closed.

On Jan. 18, 2024, ********* ATTEMPTED to take $29.95 off my ******* card without my knowledge or consent. Luckily I had my card locked, so it was declined. However, the next day, Jan. 19, I was paying some bills and had my card unlocked, and scrshin.com took the $29.95 off my card. I had just enough money on my card to pay my power bill, so now if can't come up with $30 before 5 pm Monday my power will be disconnected!!! My ONLY source of heat is electric heaters, and t's going to be 16° tomorrow night!!! I honestly just want my money refunded as soon as possible, but something HAS to be done to stop similar issues from happening. There are so many hard working people, like me, who are basically living paycheck to paycheck and can't afford to lose ANY of their money. ESPECIALLY, when they haven't ordered, subscribed, or even HEARD of this ** company, which is what happened to me.

Ms. ******** stated she did not sign up and never head of the company.  However records indicate she signed up from an IP address that is located in the same state she resides.  The four page signup included providing her  date of birth, social security number, full credit card, and billing information as well as completing an identity verification with the credit bureau. After signup, Ms. ******** logged into the customer portal to view her credit scores and reports.  Ms. ******** was sent multiple emails to the email address on file, which is the same email address she provided to the BBB. These emails included a welcome email which reiterated the terms of the offer and provides information on how to cancel. She in fact did request cancelation via email.  Her account was canceled and even though she was not eligible for a refund, a courtesy refund was issued when the email was received, As Mr. ********* account was cancelled a courtesy refund was issued. Records indicate that Mr. ********* signed up for services on December 2 from an IP address in ***** ********, the same state in which he resides. The validated facts are that Mr. ********* did indeed complete a 4-page signup process that requires date of birth, social security number, full credit card, and billing information, as well as completing a third-party identity verification with the credit bureau. Additionally Mr. ********* was sent a welcome email to the same email address he provided in this complaint. Further, records indicate that on that date, after a successful sign up, that Mr. ********* logged into his account and successfully viewed his reports and scores. Mr. *********s account was cancelled upon receipt of this complaint and even though he was not eligible for a refund, a courtesy refund has been issued. As Mr. ********* did sign up and has been cancelled as well as refunded we request this complaint be closed.
