Hired Alvin's plumbing to install a new faucet. The plumber that did the repair removed the original faucet and with it, a retainer bracket that supported the sink against the bottom of the countertop. This wasn't noticeable until a week or two later when the back of the sink had dropped by more than 1/4" and water was leaking down into the cabinet. Photos of the space show where a bracket had been installed that supported the sink and was no longer in place. The plumber took all of the packaging and old parts with him or I would have reinstalled the removed bracket myself. Then, while he was here, I asked him about a toilet that didn't seem to be flushing efficiently. He opened the back, indicated he'd found the problem, cut a tube, removed and discarded some kind of clip, put it back together, and the issue was worse. He had to replace the parts he'd cut, which he got from his truck, put back together, then charged me $100 for the repair - and the toilet continued to malfunction. I reached out to Alvin to come back and repair the sink and he used every excuse in the book for why this wasn't his fault. At one point he denied that they'd done anything that affected the sink mount although pictures show otherwise. The bottom line is that the plumber didn't realize what he was doing when he cut the existing faucet off with a sawzall, discarded the part that supported the sink, and denied responsibility. Regardless of how the sink was installed originally, the plumber's negligence caused expensive damage to my sink/counter. The most he offered was $100 off the installation of a new toilet. Estimated cost to repair the sink/countertop is close to $500. I spent $375 already to install the faucet and "fix" the toilet. At the end of the day it's going to cost me almost $900 for what should have been a very simple and inexpensive job.
