Sullivan Contracting LLC. recently replaced my roof due to storm damage and was supposed to inform my insurance company with the claim process related to the roof repairs. Despite several attempts in communications with the contractor to complete the required supplemental response for my insurance claim, the supplemental response has still not been completed. The roof repairs have been completed since October 2nd, 2024. I have left voicemails, Texts, as well as an email to the owner and have contacted the office directly trying to get this resolved without avail. The necessary supplemental response requires supporting pictures and detailed documentation of the damages that were identified by the contractor. The contractor still has not complied with the requirements set forth by my insurance company. This documentation is crucial to ensuring that the claim is processed and covered appropriately. Specifically, the insurance company requires: Clear and comprehensive photographs of the damaged areas. Detailed descriptions of the damages to substantiate the need for repairs. Any additional cost estimates or changes to the original scope of work that might affect the total claim value. As of today, my insurance adjuster nor I have received the requested supplemental documentation. Without this information my claim cannot proceed, and the required reimbursements and additional exterior siding repairs continued to be delayed further, which is impacting the overall condition of my property.

Started 11/1/2023say they are done 11/14/2023. Performed installing new driveway. Driveway is unusable. Big peices sticking up and creases sticking up close to a half inch. Not smooth. Pools water. Not same height. Asphalt water run off to house not away from house. Asphalt is higher at garage overhead door and side door. Paid 3000.00 will not pay balance. But they will not correct. Manager says perfect job. Have had two other contractors out and the only way to repair is redo the job.

I hired Sullivan Driveways & Seal Coating LLC to install a new asphalt driveway. The crew started the job on August 22, 2023 and the driveway was supposed to be complete in two days. The crew reported back on August 23 to do the paving, and I was told by the crew that the pavement truck was unavailable that they. They reported back the following day and I was told the same thing. I tried to contact the Lead Estimator, in charge of the project, to inquire about the delay, and he didn't reach out to keep me in the loop. At that point, I gave the company a bad review on the ******* *******. I also did a search on ******** and found their website. I sent a message to Jake S****** (Lead Estimator), and ****** S******* (Owner) replied. I explained the situation and he started coordinating the project at that point. The crew finished installing my driveway on August 31, 2023. I'm not happy with the quality of their work because they left multiple rough spots visible that they didn't smooth out. As a result, it doesn't look like I paid $5,800 to get it replaced. In addition, not only did they do a mediocre job with the driveway, but they also ruined my lawn in the process. I didn't expect support from ****** due to the fact that Jake called me up after the project was completed and he read the ******* review. He was very disrespectful and I told him not to call again. This time I posted negative review with pictures on ****** Reviews. ****** contacted me about the review and said that he lost a prospective client who read the review. He made a commitment to fix the rough spots and the lawn in a few weeks and sealing the driveway. He asked him to suspend the negative reviews and give him three weeks. I honored his request by modifying the ******* review and deleting the ****** review. I tried getting a commitment date as the third week drew closer and on September 22, he guaranteed the first week in October. On October 6, I gave him an ultimatum.

The matter is pending as of October 24, 2023, but the owner contacted me yesterday and said he is taking care of it this week.  I wish to keep this case active until the owner does the repairs.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 10/25/2023

      Hello ******,
On October 16, 2023, I said I would delete all the bad reviews and start with a clean slate if I fixed the driveway by October 18. You responded that October 19 gives you more time, and we agreed on Friday. I also asked if we could reschedule for Monday if it rained that Friday, and you acknowledged. On Monday morning, you notified me that your foreman, Mike, was coming to do an assessment. I showed him the visible seams, rough spots, and a large, brownish yellowish stain, and he said that sealing the driveway would cover all those imperfections and make it nice and smooth. He also said that planting seeds and cleaning up the lawn would take care of the pile of dirt left behind by the crew. Mike's primary reason for coming over was to brief you on fixing the driveway efficiently and recommended the same course of action that you proposed on September 3, 2023, when you said that you were going to seal the driveway for me while we were discussing the impact of the negative reviews on your company. My main concern is that you appear to be stalling as you did when you first became aware of my dissatisfaction with the work performed. You must act in good faith and take immediate action to resolve this problem. Time is of the essence, and you risk the clean slate deal we made on October 16, 2023, nullified at any time without notice. Everything reverts immediately to its previous state of chaos once we no longer have the deal we both agreed on!
Incidentally, how long are you blocking me from accessing Sullivan Driveways & Seal Coating LLC on ********???

I feel it is incumbent upon my part to inform you that ****** Sullivan exhausted the time he had to fix the driveway on time.  He maintains that he will do so when the weather is hot.  I had to send him a brief text message today to notify him that the new driveway now has multiple cracks.

Contracted out to have roof replaced in Sept 2021. Didn't happen. A lot of personal/family issues happened during that time. The roof replacement was not my primary given other issues. Given the recent severe rain we have had in the past weeks, the roof became a concern again. Have reached out some dozen times in the past week or two including phone calls and an email. Can't get past the receptionists who promises "someone" will call me back. NOBODY has or does. I want my money back. BECAUSE the funding for the roof would come from my older brother's disability/Social Security payment and was in the hands of both ******* ********* and my lawyer at the time, I have copies of the original estimate, the SIGNED and CASHED bank check along with the check backing that comes with a bank check. At this point, I want the money refunded.

I've given the company $6,610 to schedule a roofing project on my home, as well as to set a tentative date. Said funds were given to the company over 3 weeks ago. No meaningful communications have been received, despite several attempts on my end. The company was quick to cash my check, but I've received NO information or updates from them. The roofing work was supposed to take place at ** ******** *** ******** ***

I had my roof replaced by Sullivan Contracting on 06/03/2023. Inspection was done on 6/05/2023 because we were away. Upon inspection with Jake S******, the contracter, I noticed a piece of gutter was damaged by his crew. He agreed to replace the section with a new piece of gutter when they came to fix our chimney. The contract states within 7-10 days of 06/05/2023. I have not heard from them since. I sent a text message to Jake yesterday, with no response. I also emailed the owner, George Sullivan, with no response. At this point, I just want my gutter replaced. The chimney job is not my concern. This has been the first and last time I hire a contractor, I've had nothing but issues dealing with them.

I hired this company to replace my roof including proper ventilation through the attic. They were drinking on the job and throwing beer bottles off my roof. The manager harassed me and bullied me out of making a complaint at that time. After completion I’ve had moisture issues coming in through the attic. I tried to reach out to the owner without success and wound up having to have another contractor fix the moisture/ventilation issues. I then follow up with my state to ensure Sullivan contracting submitted the permits they noted in their contract that they would and they have not despite it being months after the project.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/28/2022

In regards to the bogus allegations made in regards to alleged "ventilation" issues, the circumstances are as such; at the time of agreement to the roofing works it was stated that a full bathroom remodel was contracted with another company, our company being professional and astute to not only roofing but in essence all aspects of remodeling, up to and including separate new home construction license, inquired as to current ventilation system more specifically exhaust locations and tentative plans for location(s) as well as whom they intended to have install the necessary equipment and where? It was then discovered the homeowner nor bathroom contractor had any plans or insight involving specific design or options or equipment and at what points of exit provide optimum use of powered exhaust, as well as what features are best suited to be installed by each individual professional, at which time our outfit in beyond "good faith" and any requirement whatsoever, offered the courtesy installation of a roof top mounted 4" bathroom box vent unit.  Note: document clearly states add on as for none present as of current!  This unit was given as a courtesy in anticipation of the additional works that we were no part of, and due to the fact that the works hadn't occurred, that as with any interior remodel the agency providing service including change of existing ventilation would be obligated and duly responsible for complete assembly of installed products, especially in circumstances where correct type, size, and location, as well as now considered "existing" outlet of exhaust exists.  The homeowner was fully aware that our outfit was from rooftop up (exterior) based contract for scopes only and that interior assembly of unit was never in any way, shape, or form in our scopes of work and was diligently advised numerous times to ensure that proper "hook up" occurred.  (Note failing to attach does NOT in any way affect performance of roof in any/all aspects including water tightening/ leaks YET DUE TO EXCESSIVE HUMID FORCED AIR BEING DUMPED WITH RECKLESS ABANDONMENT INTO AN INSULATED, UPDATED, TOP TECHNOLOGY ENCLUSIVE WATER TIGHTENED, CONVECTION BASED VENTIALTION (NOT POWERED, FORCED,OR ASSISTED AIR MOVEMENT) ATTIC AREA.  The allegations from this particular client are false in nature, have also varied in various degrees of personal, professional, and alleged criminal misconduct(s) which all seem to "change course or accusation" based on any inquiry or request of relevant - pertinent evidence or physical proof of borderline deranged and delusional behaviors. The degree of mental instability and fantasy in which this particular client displays can be summed up with the following True verifiable statements with a basic recap of events. (*note not specific as to times and dates physically)

Client calls cell phone mentioning "moisture issue in attic" not leak, makes statement of discrepancy with employee, (employee had more than 4 interactions mostly in one on one circumstances however is the most knowledgeable of project) so due to location and timing as well as most incite and to alleviate liability, negative social media, reviews, and to show "good faith" employee is dispatched to home, homeowner slams door in face and rejects courtesy inspection, warranty inspection, installation validation and remediation.  ALL SAME DAY APPROXIMATE 6hrs from call to rejection

Upon rejection another phone conversation with client with unfounded, outright unbelievable (over 20+ years personal and professional interactions with no remotely similar or even alleged circumstances in nature witnessed by myself owner of Sullivan Contracting LLC ) allegations of not only professional/personal misconduct but also CRIMINAL allegations but all pre-dating several weeks if not months prior to this incident, also noted client had additional interactions with agents - affiliates- supervisors of our outfit with not one indication or mention of any sort of misconduct on employee above mentioned. (Note other wildly unexplainable, damaging, and downright damming accusations were made against installation team months prior, however, any attempts by aforementioned employee to validate, investigate, and again remediate/rectify were completely hindered by client, and ultimately were found completely false and unfounded and the employee did make that clear to client at time of which is what soured relationship.)  Ultimately, I (owner), against my better judgement offered to personally come to property in question regarding works and was flat out refused by homeowner and told nobody from my company may come to her house.

Moments later (still same day) receive a "blocked call" from person identifying as state police officer in regard to homeowner and specifically no contact from myself or agents and affiliates requested by homeowner, advised though civil due to mental instability as well as self-observed discrepancies in her allegations/complaint advised to stay away and refrain from any all contact.

approximately 2 days later:  *********** (Roofing MANUFACTURER) whom with we are heavily credentialed with as well as exemplary performance awarded by, was contacted by homeowner with allegations, *********** was then made aware of prior attempts to validate as well as clients attempt to involve state police and pending criminal aspects set forth should we attempt to contact or attempt any sort of property visit etc. and that we were no longer able to assist, but due to relationship, certification, and warranty specifically offered they ************ manufacturer) would need to send a representative for installation verification/warranty claim !

************ FINDINGS: ROOFING MANUFACTURER USING OUTSIDE VALIDATION TEAM OF NO AFFILIATION OR ALLEGIANCE TO OUR COMPANY is that the homeowners bathroom ventilation aka exhaust fan was not properly attached or duct out of exhaust reciprocal clearly present and properly installed, therefore, rendering this circumstance not of any liability to the roof, materials, installation techniques, or affiliated, but as negligence of whomever installed powered fan ventilation without necessary duct work.  All installation for warranty was verified and correctly installed/applied in regard to the roof / roof system and issue resides beyond roofing scopes and responsibility to which homeowner was made privy at time of physical inspection.

This an accurate complete response and politely request removal of negative condemnation and FALSE Statements.

In December 2021 Sullivan contracting installed a new roof on my home. I has no issues with the original consultation and installation. However after about 7 months there were shingles that dislodged and needed to be fixed. I attempted to contact them about fixing them. Their office phone was never answered and it's voicemail was continuously full. I had numbers for the foreman on the job and the salesman that had originally met me about giving me the quote. The foreman never returned either a call or text message that i sent him. George the manager I did manage to reach on the phone however he said he was at the doctors and that I should text him. I proceeded to text him at least 5 times over the ensuing 5 weeks and did not get a single reply. Eventually we did get to leave a message at thier office phone and the lady there called us back asking for a photo of what needed to fixed. She indicated that it was a simple fix and that we should hear from George soon. Again weeks later with still no word we got ahold of the office person again and she indicated we needed to speak to George ourselves. We just want to hear from them and have them come out and fix the shingles that need fixing, probably a 10 minute job for them but it is very frustrating getting absolutely no reply

On 24AUG2022, A mild rainstorm lasting approximately 15 minutes passed over my home. The rainstorm was otherwise insignificant except that Sullivan Contracting failed to clean up the shingles which landed in the gutter when they removed and installed the new roof. I was not aware the gutters were clogged with shingles until the rainfall resulted in flooding of my bedroom and damage to the window. When I contacted Sullivan Contracting regarding this, I was told they will not accept liability and went so far as to say that it was my fault for having the windows open and not cleaning the gutters. Neither of these statements were true and I was assured many times at completion of the project that they did a thorough cleaning at the time the project was completed. We have been experiencing a drought and so I have not experienced enough rainfall to be aware of this issue sooner but through text I was told that they cannot be held liable so far after the installation of the roof. The roof was initially installed in July.
