I brought in my car to Automotive 7 Spa to have vinyl stripes done. Prior to scheduling the job, I drove over to the shop in ******* ** to discuss the project in details. I showed Franklin (Owner) my car and what I would like done. After our meeting, I also sent messages with pictures of other cars that had a similar job done. He agreed to take on the project, asked for a $200 deposit electronically, and set up a time to drop off the car. Once completed, he messaged me to let me know that my car is ready. When I arrived, I noticed how unprofessionally the job was done. The stripes on my car were not symmetrical (see attached pictures). They didn't line up across the car. There were many areas that were misaligned, crooked, and even ripped. It seemed like it was done by an amateur. I told him about my concerns and that I wasn't satisfied. At first, he claimed that's how it's supposed to look and that's the best he could do. He later apologized and said to give him couple of days to consult with his "wrap expert" ,who is on vacation currently, and get back to me. When I didn't hear back from him, I reached out to ask for updates. He then responded with two options: "1. take the car as is and we part ways" or 2. "You bring the car, we remove the stripes, and return your deposit money." I selected the option to remove the stripes and get my deposit back. We decided on a time to bring the car back. I waited at the shop until the stripes were removed. When they were removed, I noticed there were some marks on the car that looked like glue or residue from the removed wrap/stripes. I rubbed it with my hands to ensure it was just glue/residue and I was able to scrub it off easily. However, when I got home, I decided to scrub the rest with a microfiber towel. That's when I realized that not all spots are glue and there are actually a few scratches on my car where the stripes were before. The scratches are along the outline of the stripes. It is very clear and apparent that the scratches were caused during the installation or uninstallation of the stripes. Straight lines that look like they were from a razor or knife (see attached pictures). I decided to message him to let him know right away. Regarding the scratches, he claimed that he "noticed some all over the vehicle, that is to be expected since the car is not new." I informed him that these scratches are not all over the car. They are only in the outline of where the stripes were. The scratches perfectly align with where the stripes used to be. Also, it must be noted that the car is in fact fairly new. It only has about 15k miles and has never been to a car wash, only hand washed and dried. Furthermore, the entire car was ceramic coated by a certified detailer and also paint corrected as part of the process (which removes any existing scratches). That also comes with a warranty. This was done a few months ago. So the car definitely did not have these particular scratches prior to this shop dealing with it. Regardless, I clarified that I'm not concerned with scratches anywhere else on my car. The only few scratches I'm pointing out are the ones caused by the job. The straight line scratches which outline the stripes. Since then, I have not received a response from Franklin. I've sent multiple text messages on different days but still no response. It seems that I'm being ignored at this point. This shop took on a project that it was clearly incapable of performing. The shop owner had never done anything like this but still decided to take on the project and was unsuccessful in executing. I can provide text messages where Franklin himself admits that their business could not offer what I wanted. Despite that, they still took a deposit and decided to work on the car. Due to their lack of professionalism, I've had to inconveniently spend my time and money only to be ignored at the end. The shop is about 40-45 minutes from my home. I've done 3 roundtrips to the shop. Each time, I have to request friend or family to also drive their car to the shop so they can give me a ride back. Although I got my deposit money back, I was never compensated for these scratches caused by the shop or the trips that I made to the shop. I was hoping to resolve this with Franklin but he seems to now be ignoring all my messages. At this point, I have not left any negative reviews for this business on any platform. However, if I don't receive a resolution, I do plan on letting the community know to avoid such a business. Everything I've stated above can be supported with text messages, pictures, and videos as needed.
