I purchased a Lyman E-ZEE Prime Hand Priming Tool and had a warranty issue with it several months ago. I called them and they replaced it. Now, I’m have the same problem, it wont completely seat the primers. I called again last week and now they tell me what they are doing is providing one free Lyman shell holder and any others at half price. The reason for this is they now admit that this product will only work with their shell holders and not the other brands as advertised on the box. I e-mailed them with my concerns and haven’t heard anything in response so I’m filing this complaint. Why should I have to buy new shell holders for a product that I bought with the understanding it will work with the various brands I have? This is false advertising and the wrong approach in my opinion. I would like a complete set of shell holders for free or a correctly working tool. If that cannot be done, then I would like to be refunded the purchase price of $49.95 plus 7% tax.Business response

Lyman Products responded 5/25/22 by email, followed up on 6/14/22 by phone to learn that Mr. ******** had not yet seen our earlier email.
As for our response to Mr. ********’s complaint, we advised him that infrequent reports have been received from a small number of our customers experiencing similar fit issues using off-brand shell holders. The product in question is an imported item built to our specifications and we have recently learned that some units received and shipped by Lyman may have been manufactured out of specification, thus potentially causing the poor fit issue described by this customer. This has not been an overwhelmingly consistent or frequent issue to our knowledge, but Lyman has nonetheless taken steps to work proactively with the manufacturer to ensure units are being built to specification and will operate as designed and as advertised. Lyman refutes the claim of false advertising by simply stating that issues with our contract manufacturer seem to be the root cause of the reported issue and are now in the process of being corrected.
To sum, this issue does not affect all EZEE Prime Hand Priming Tools. The expectation continues to be that this product should operate as designed and as advertised. Lyman is working to ensure this is not an ongoing issue for any of our customers. As per our published warranty information, Lyman will honor all warranty claims that meet warranty criteria. Lyman has offered additional Lyman brand shell-holders to Mr. ******** at no cost as a first resolution which he accepted. Those are expected to be available to ship by end of June (2022). Should this solution not be satisfactory, we are pleased to exchange the product he received for another unit or offer a full refund for his purchase as he did purchase direct from Lyman.Al R******

I purchased a Lyman EZEe hand priming today and it did not seat the primers the whole way in I emailed the company and said about the problem and they said that they were aware of the problem and working on redesigning the tool. They asked me what brand of shell holders I used and I told them ****. They told me it really only works with their brand of shell holder. I explain to him right on the box multiple places it says it will work with other brands of shell holders including the ones that I have. Their solution was to give me one for free and then sell me the other ones I need at 50% off. I need like five total and explain to them since it was their problem and their fault was falsely advertising their product that I would like all five of them for free. I already paid for the product why should I have to pay extra money to be able to use it when it states it could be used with other types. They responded that there is nothing more they can do they cannot give away products for free even though I asked why not because they’re giving one away why can’t they get five? I feel their customer service is very horrible that they are willing to go through bad reviews and upset a customer for a total of maybe $16-$20 and tell me that I have to pay more money to use her product that I already paid for. I’m hoping you can do something to resolve the situation as I feel their product is falsely advertising.Customer response
