I was informed by the owner that she was keeping my deposit of over $2,400 due to me cancelling my order after initially being told I would have furniture by December 2022. I have now been informed that I may or may not receive it by August 2023. I want my deposit back since I have cancelled the furniture and the owner will not give it back to me. She has been dishonest, unfair and rude. I would recommend not purchasing anything from this business.Business response

To Whom it may Concern ,
Please see the facts and timelines below as well our store policy
Mr & Mrs ****** purchased a custom sofa and chair in September of 2022. Under normal circumstances of fabric and frame availability as well as prior to COVID delays this order would have taken 12-16 weeks and now is taking 6-12 months. The ******s were advised of the extended delays
Attached is a copy of our invoices stating store policy of:
NO refunds on special orders
Absolutely NO cancellations or changes once the order has been put into production by the manufacturer
a 30 % restocking fee charged for any cancelled orders
with in 2 weeks of placing the order we were told by the vendor that the fabric chosen was out of stock and would not be received until sometime in December then a production date would be issued
The ******s were given an opportunity to choose an alternative fabric and visited the showroom on Oct 2022 at which time Mrs ****** said she wanted only the original fabric and actually changed the style of the chair.
again they were told that the delay in fabric would only delay the fabrication as well
late December I received a call on my cell asking for status at which time I told Mr ****** that not only was I away but the factories are closed until the beginning of January and would find out all status upon my return.
Only yesterday was I finally given an actual timeline by ******* ***** since the fabric had beed received during the shut down and now the frames would be put into production ( email from factory attached )
I spoke to Mr ****** on Jan 16 and we had made arrangements for me to update him on the progress very 15 th of the month
Mrs ****** then called and demanded that the order to be cancelled at which time she was told there would be a restocking fee of 30 % which would be deducted form her deposit.
Even though though it is our normal policy to return the special order deposit of 30 % we have decided to do so in this case. I have attached a copy of the credit card refunds on the original order and attached for your
review
