On 2/10/2021 I filed a Wind Damage with my insurance Company ***** **** Insurance. Damaged incurred at my property located at ** ***** ***** ******* **. I requested A Plus Exterior to submitted an estimate to my insurance company for the cost to repair the damage. I signed an agreement with A Plus exterior on February 12th 2021. A Plus Exterior provided my insurance a free estimate in the amount of $21,892.28. My insurance company ***** **** only approved to payment for damages in the amount of $5,945.05. A Plus Exterior never had an approval from me to complete the work after the insurance company did not approved their estimate. A plus Insurance has never started or completed any of the work to fix the Wind damage at my property. A plus exterior since then has sent me an invoice dated 10/28/21 for $917.17 for a window that was never replaced and for providing ***** **** insurance a "free estimate". A plus has also demanded payment by sending me to a collection agency requesting a payment of $5,945.05 for work that was never done at my property. As stated in the first paragraph of the agreement I signed with A Plus Exterior "If the insurance company does not approve a complete replacement, this contract will be null and void; the Owner will not owe the Contractor anything. i also received an email from one of the employers of A Plus exterior stating that if i hired them to complete the work I would only be responsible for my insurance deductible, there is not mentioned of charges for providing an estimate.Business response

A Plus Exterior was hired by ******* ****** to do inspection reports, measurement reports and estimated repairs for her to submit to her insurance company due to storm damages. Retail estimates are free at A Plus Exterior, this project would not be considered a retail project since Mrs. ****** hired us as roofing experts, completing detailed estimates, adjuster meetings, costly measurement reports and more. Mrs. ****** was approved by her insurance for items estimated by A Plus Exterior. The agreement that she signed states she agrees to hire A Plus Exterior for the work approved by the insurance company. A Plus Exterior spent many hours working on her files and going back and forth with her insurance company to come to an agreement for repairs. The invoice she received was for us to be reimbursed for our time and a window she ordered through us wwhich is non refundable. This window had a 4-6 week lead time, upon window arrival she informed us she had hired someone else to complete the work After numerous attempts to resolve the issue with Mrs. ******, her invoice was sent to collections.
