Additional business information
At its website's Home page the business states "Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed" and states "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed!" at its Pet Waste Removal page. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the term guarantee, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details can be seen prior to sale. These details must disclose any material limitations on the guarantee. Advertisers should only use satisfaction guarantee, or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request. BBB suggested to the business that if its policy does not include a full refund, that it may want to consider modifying these statements. BBB also requested that the business add the terms of its policy wherever it is advertised.
The RawGanics page of its website includes the following claims:
"Raw Dog Food Diet, What are the benefits? Reduces allergies, Healthier Coats, Healthier Bowel Movements, Fewer Bowel Movements, Healthier Digestive Tract, Higher Energy Levels, Cleaner Teeth"
"Raw uncooked bones are 100% safe for dogs. Dogs can actually consume 100% of the bone."
The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Claims relating to performance, safety, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. BBB requested that the business provide any objective testing or data in support of these claims.
Advertisers must not deceptively or falsely disparage a competitor or competing products or services in their advertising. Truthful comparisons using factual information may help consumers make informed buying decisions, provided all representations are consistent with the general rules and prohibitions against false and deceptive advertising; the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses any material or significant limitations of the comparison; and the advertiser can substantiate all claims made. BBB requested that the business provide substantiation for the following claims:
"Disadvantages to using store bought kibble. Uses binders, Main ingredient is GRAIN, Artificial coloring, Added salt, Added sugar, Does NOT digest properly, Added flavoring, Cooked at very high temperatures which destroy enzymes, essential fatty acids, vitamins & good bacteria."
"Store bought kibble is just about the worst thing you could feed your dog."
The business responded to BBB but declined to address the claims brought to its attention.
