  I had a very old chimney in my very old house which was causing air and water leakage and damage. I called a few companies who were less than desirable in many respects. I then called Spotless Chimney just wanting to get a factual opinion on what I was really dealing with. Spotless came out and performed a drone inspection and let me know someone would call me. Within the same day, I received a call back from Tom. I asked him to let me know what all my options were, good and bad. Tom explained the good and the bad. He provided advice that was true to the situation. We had many conversations. He explained everything in understandable language. After talking through all options, it was evident I needed a complete rebuild. Not something I was prepared for (but in the end was truly needed). Spotless Chimney is not pushy or aggressive. They are local and not a big ‘franchise’ which has many downsides. And so, I began my ‘Chimney Journey’ with Spotless. They are very willing to work with you! As they started the project, I was informed every step of the way. During the work I was kept informed, all questioned were answered, they were professional, clean, and did more than initially explained. The crew was unbelievable, hard working and skilled. The office staff even answers the phone and responds! As with any project, which should be expected, there are unforeseen issues that occur. Dan, the owner of Spotless Chimney got personally involved to ensure the result was as promised. Dan is a stand-up guy with ethics who cares about his business and customers. My new chimney is beautiful! In the end I am so pleased I did it AND took on this journey with Spotless Chimney! I can only say that Spotless Chimney values are centered on QUALITY, doing the job RIGHT and your SATISFACTION than they are over PROFIT!

  I would give zero stars if I could. I booked an appointment to have my chimney cleaned and instead I came away with an estimate for over $20,000 in repairs necessary to "bring my chimney up to code and make it safe to operate and clean." This is an absolute scam. They use scare tactics to make their customers fearful of having a fire and essentially hold them hostage to do the recommended repairs in order to get the cleaning done. I wish I had done better due diligence before hiring them...I would have realized that this is their modus-operandi. I was shocked at the number of people who were given the same message..."you have an excessive build-up of creosote, your tiles are cracked and we need to remove them in order to insert a sleeve, your chimney crown is lifting, you have cracks in the mortar and we recommend a chimney re-build." Shocking. I'd be curious to know what percentage of chimneys pass their inspection and are "eligible" for their "free cleaning." And as if that was not enough to make me realize how unscrupulous their business practices are...their forwarding me a recording of my booking call left me incredulous. Who records a booking call and for what reason? I'll tell you who...someone who frequently receives calls from unsatisfied customers once they realize they've been scammed...so they play back their little recording and say "I told you what our procedure was." Deceitful, dishonest, conniving and unethical....that's how I would describe Spotless Chimney...the self-proclaimed "leader in the industry who is looking to change the way things are done." I should have known something was up when their chimney guys showed up in khakis and a blue quarter zip...not exactly chimney cleaning attire.Why? Because they had no intention of cleaning my chimney. I'm sure they find significant problems with every chimney they inspect. I have already made sure my friends and neighbors know to steer clear of this business and I will continue to spread the word.

  Their main objective seems to be to sell customers expensive, needless repairs. I called Spotless Chimney and asked to have two flues inspected and cleaned, if necessary. They recommended their level 2 inspection, which includes a detailed inspection of one flue and a "complimentary" cleaning of that flue if it is in acceptable condition to do so, for approximately $250. I have two flues in one chimney so around $500. The inspector sent to do the work looked, acted and spoke with obvious inexperience.  He seemed like he had been "schooled" with the proper buzzwords.  He spent an hour in my basement inspecting the flues, an hour sitting in his van in my driveway, then used a drone to inspect the exterior and top of the chimney, and then returned to his van for another hour. He then recommended that the full chimney be completely torn down and rebuilt, including new flue liners, and gave me a quote for $45,000 to do so.  During the 3 to 4 hours the tech spent at my house, neither of my flues were cleaned because the tech claimed cleaning the flues would damage them due to the condition they were in.  I was charged a total of $478 for this abbreviated effort. I called and asked for at least half of my money back because they only completed half of the service I hired them to do (inspected but did not clean). They said they would give me a credit towards the $45000 worth of work they recommended but would not give me any sort of refund. I have since had a reputable chimney company inspect and clean both my flues for $350, without telling them that Spotless was ever here. They sent out an experienced, knowledgeable tech who stated that the chimney was in good condition but that I do need both flues relined. Their recommendations are to replace the top two rows of bricks, reline both flues, repair the crown, install stainless flue caps , and apply water repellent. Total estimate from the reputable company is $15,043. Total estimate from Spotless Chimneys is $45000.

  A real company that actually cares. I used Spotless for the first time recently and was blown away by their want to work with their customers and their immense knowledge. After several companies told me to repair my chimney, or that it didn't need to a liner etc, Spotless was able to provide me the solution I actually needed and provided a great deal to ensure my chimney was up to code. I even stopped in to their offices and went on a tour of their training center with their team. Cannot speak more highly of this company!

  My family and I recently moved and had Spotless Chimney come out to give us a quote for repairs we needed for our chimney. Wow, these guys know how to get the job done!! They were professional, hard working, diligent, and it was a great service overall. The crew came out for a full takedown rebuild, liner & cap installation on 4/13 and finished up that same night! We are delighted with the work and glad we chose Spotless Chimney. I suggest everyone definitely call on them for any future chimney needs and strongly recommend them to others, they will take care of you!! A++
