Date of the Transaction: 6/18/22 The Amount of Money I have paid to the business: $0.00 What the Business Committed to provide to me: An estimate for service to be completed on my chimney The nature of the dispute: I received an invoice in November labeled as “Past Due.” I received a call from the owner’s wife stating that the invoice was past due and needed to be paid. I replied that I had requested ECC Chimney come out to provide an estimate for services to be completed on my chimney. I would be happy to pay the $75.00 in conjunction with the estimate and to get work started, however I was told that it would be a free quote, I had not received an invoice or a statement for services in over 6 months, and I would not be paying an invoice for services that were not rendered. The owner’s wife confirmed to me that she just recently took over the billing, and I was not the only person affected as it had not been communicated there would be a $75.00 fee prior to the technician going out to customer’s homes. I received another past due invoice in December, and reached out again to ECC 12/18/22 stating that I still had not received an estimate for the scope of work. I received an estimate, that was most likely another persons estimate as so much time had elapsed since the technician had come to my house in June. The estimate did not have the correct date from when the technician had come to my home, or cover what was discussed with me, and included no pictures or specific details to my home chimney. I have not signed a contract, and do not feel I should be responsible for paying this invoice as so much time has elapsed since the technician had been in my home in June. ECC Chimney has not tried to resolve this issue, and continues to send me past due invoices. The estimate I received today 12/19/22 did not include what was discussed with me last June, and appears to be another customer’s estimate.Business response

We dont do inspections for free the customer will not pay the inspection fee she does not get a inspection report. There is no exceptions to our policies.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ************, and find that the vendor has responded separately to me confirming that the invoice is voided out. I have attached the confirmation. The response from the vendor back to you does not line up with what was communicated to me. Once this is confirmed as voided out, I am comfortable with the businesses response.
