Two ****** ***** ********* **** shared concerns with ****** ******* of *********** about a caregiver following a 911 call they answered for my dad, ******* ****** on 8-8-23. One of them said, "She isn't capable of taking care of a gerbil". Ms. ******* indicated that the client (my dad) lives in an independent apartment and that the family (my sister and I) hire an agency to provide live-in care. Ms. ******* then asked for specifics so she could share them with the family. The ****** ***** ********* **** shared the following concerns: the caregiver did not know my dad's birthdate and did not seem to know any personal or health related information about my dad. The caregiver explained that she had just been placed as a substitute caregiver. Lastly and most seriously, the caregiver had reposition my dad on his back following the fall which the EMT's thought was contributing to breathing difficulty. Subsequent to that I visited my dad and Alice, the substitute caregiver employed by the Lighthouse Agency. Her knowledge of my dad's care needs were limited to what the vacationing permanent live in care giver (Margaret) had shared verbally during their transition. My dad's care plan with the Lighthouse Agency (attached) includes among other things, use of a gait belt and Alice had no knowledge of the gait belt or the written care plan that details its use. Upon contacting Diana B******, Alice's supervisor and the companion care manager at Lighthouse, she was unaware of my dad's fall or the 911 call which is contrary to their emergencies policy (Item 8) in their client services agreement (attached). Additionally, when asked why Alice had not been advised of the care plan and why a copy of the care plan was not in my dad's apartment, her response was, "We don't do that, the care plan in in your dad's file in the office."Business response

The Department of Consumer Protection was also contacted, and they completed an audit following the client's complaint and found no issues with the services we provided. They recommended administrative revisions to keep our paperwork in compliance.
