On 12/4/22, my husband & I placed a custom order for a diamond wedding band that was to be molded to match my existing wedding ring but be cast in platinum instead. Rather than take my ring for the jeweler to mold, the owner offered to send, from the store inventory, the same 14K wedding band that I have (as this is where my husband bought the ring from originally for our wedding) which the jeweler could use to create the platinum version of it. The owner said that he would be sending that ring in a shipment the next day with other items so as to have everything ready and back for a Christmas deadline. On Dec. 24th, we returned to the store to pick up the ring & discovered that the ring that was sent to the store, though it included the stones from the store ring & was made in platinum, was a completely different, rounded style of ring & was not engraved as requested (said the machine broke). The owner suggested I try it through the holiday (since I would have to come back anyway to have it sent for engraving again as his jeweler was on vacation through the beginning of Jan.) & then we could look at changing it. After New Year's I got COVID & was sick for 3 weeks so by the time I returned to the store & spoke to an associate, I had had plenty of time to think about it & honestly, I felt lied to since the owner had specifically said that the ring would be molded to match & clearly it wasn't at all. I requested a refund in returning the ring & initially, when the owner called me, the owner refused & said that it would just be made correctly. However, when I sent him pictures w/ the exact measurements for the correct ring, the owner emailed me & said that he would be refunding me minus a $100 shipping charge. I explained the $100 shipping charge is unjustifiable since he had stated that a shipment w/ several items was already going out the next day from the date of our initial order & the return shipment included other items for Xmas as well anyway. I was ignored.
