      Account #********* June 27-July 1 2022 This complaint comes after multiple attempts of trying to contact *** at Dominion regarding work completed at our home 3 weeks ago. While they did a good job regarding the hard wood floors inside our home, they ruined my front patio outside. The employee was cutting all the wood there and the wood shavings stained my cement porch patio. When it was addressed w the owner, he did try to fix it but made it worse once he poured muriatic acid on it. He stated that the acid usually clears it up. However, it wasn’t working and he would call a friend to address it. We have since reached out multiple times to *** and left messages but have not received a call back at all. My front porch is ruined. If he is familiar w the wood shavings reacting w cement, then they should’ve taken precautions to avoid that in the first place. Seeing as he and his employee ruined my patio and has failed to make good on repairing it, I would never do business w him nor recommend anyone to him. He got paid for the hardwood floors in full cash $3200 (an extra $20 because he didn’t have change to add insult to injury on a $3180 job) and never came back to address his mistake. As far as I’m concerned, this lack of follow-up on the mistake of the patio overshadowed the work on the hardwood floors.

          My sincerest apologies go out to you and your husband. I can understand your frustration and concerns with my delayed response I was reaching out to a few contractor that deal in concrete for advice and guidance, but had little success. Without a clear solution I became nervous and anxious. It was never my intention to have things escalate to this degree. I never had the intention to stain your front stoop/ entrance to your home. I did try to remedy the p***lem, wash away the area but had little success. Cutting the wood on this area I would have never thought that the shavings and saw dust would have left a mark on the concrete. I have seen it happen before but it simply washed away with water and a concrete cleaner. My intentions were to never damage anyones property or leave a discoloration on a customers front stoop. I try to treat every job with the upmost care and attention to avoid these issues. I would like to remedy the p***lem and come to an agreement in how to address your concerns.

      Dear ***,
      Thank you for your reply to our complaint w the BBB.


      While we understand that you did not deliberately mean to cause damage or discoloration to our front stoop, that is what has happened and to date, it has not been corrected. I understand you have reached out to other companies to address the issue and have not had any success in finding a recommendation as to how to address it. Our frustration truly comes for  you not returning any phone calls and you not initiating any follow-ups despite not having a resolution. Communication is key to any customer service issues. 


      To reiterate, as stated in the initial complaint, we were very pleased with your woodworking skills and final product for our living room and hallway. 


      Ultimately, we just want our front stoop to not be stained whether it be with the stain from the shavings or from the muriatic acid that you poured to try to rectify the initial staining. 


      At this point maybe if you at least came to try to power wash or pour the muriatic acid across the whole stoop so that at least there isn’t a discoloration (of where it was poured initially) it might actually fix the issue. We’re not sure but that’s just a suggestion on our part.

      Dear *******,

      I just wanted to update you on the complaint filed #******** last week.

      *** from Dominion did finally reach out to my husband and arranged a time to come address the front stoop. He came Friday 8/12/22, was apologetic and did address the issue the best he could w our suggestion about re-pouring muriatic acid on the stain and cleaning the front stoop again. 

      It seems to have addressed the issue enough to consider the matter closed.
