i brought my car in 02/08/2024 to be diagnosed for a low boost code. the tech did a visual inspection and noted boost coupler was loose and swollen. It's connected with hose clamps and could have been tightened. The coupler was replaced, two days later i get the same code. I contacted ***** on 02/13/2024 told him the issue and he said the turbos would need to be replaced. I asked for an estimate he said $5500. I asked for an itemized bill knowing the 2 turbos and all the complete upgrade parts would be under $2000 with the $300 core fee that can be returned after the job he made it seem like it they would have to be sent in before purchase. I requested multiple times since i want to see where the extra $3500 was going. I asked him if he could guarantee that would fix the code he said no. Then I was told to rule out anything else before the turbos he would have to do another diagnostic with smoke and pressure testing. That should have been done first before anything else with the initial diagnostics which I talked to him about when I got there. I've never been to a shop that does multiple diagnostics for the same issue and keeps throwing parts and charging or immediately wants to do the most expensive job first then back track to vac lines, charge pipe or other common failures that are know to throw boost codes on the e92 n54. My vehicle was not properly diagnosed a coupler was put on and i had the same issue. that could have been eliminated if the car was smoked and boost tested to isolate the issue. Now my tire rubs the inside of wheel well where he removed the trim when i parallel park, he did not put it back properly. i'm puzzled why he would not send me an itemized bill to explain the 5500 price when parts were under 2000 not to mention a 7% discount if i bought the turbos in cash and core fee of 300. once i questioned why he did not do the smoke test and boost test during the diagnostics and pricing he never responded. emails included shows conversation.

Called client back to refund full amount today 2/28/24. We did not remove client's inner fender, as coupler was replaced from top and bottom, we never charged client for any parts only for diagnostic. Client signed service agreement in its entirety approving diagnostic work. Nothing additional was charged except for diagnostic time. If client reaches out we will credit back diagnostic time. We have a specific process we follow for vehicle repairs, if a client would like a different route taken, we would recommend them to anther facility as ACI may not suit their specific needs.

      thanks

I was charged for a diagnostic fee of $150.00 which was a low boost code which I had already knew and was told the boost coupler was loose and swollen and was changed. That did not solve the boost code. I had the same results. The code came back on. That may have not had to be changed. it's connected with a hose clamp they can be tightened. The total bill was 459.89 and I left in the same situation I came in. The car was not properly diagnosed clearly. And Mr.Henderson clearly stated to rule out all possibilities it would have to be smoked/boost tested. That should have been done in the diagnostic part of the job. That would have ruled out the coupler he may or may not had to replace. Mr Henderson  only reached out to me today because of my complaint. When I called  him out on his work he never responded. I've heard many good things about this shop and wanted to be a good customer how ever I feel I wasn't shown the same. I wanted my car fixed or had been told exactly what was wrong not guess work. He tells me it could be the turbos and can't guarantee it? I will except a refund how ever he should have reached out to me within the last 10 days. I do not need to speak to him at this point

Im confused we offered a full refund. If your not happy with diagnostic no problem we are offering a full refund, not sure where else the problem lies. When you diag you start with the obvious that being a leaking boost hose. In order to even smoke test the car properly you would fix any major leaks first this being the coupler and specified hose. 30FF codes are 90 percent of the time related to the turbo chargers, *** even had a recall on this exact code. The code is derived from from the wastegates not sealing correctly and in some other cases even the turbo charger wheels. A smoke test will NOT verify bad wastegates, which I will not get into deeper. We have been working on the *** platform for over 10 years. Here nor there if you are not satisfied we are not here to argue with you and we stand by our work which is why we are offering you a full refund. I also spoke with ***** and we have been extremely busy over the past few days with the weather breaking, he said you where on his list to circle back with. With all the above being said I will need you to either call in with the credit card for a refund or stop in so we can credit your card back for the full amount. Had you called us directly and said you would have liked a full refund back from the beginning we also would have done so. There was zero communication to us on this. We apologize you are dissatisfied and again stating you will be refunded the full amount.
      Thanks
