My membership contract with Anytime Fitness states that in order to terminate my membership with the gym all I needed to do was to write and sign a request to do so and mail it to their address. There is no documentation, especially none that I signed, about a supposed 1-year binding contract to pay. I mailed my letter on November 14th. I received no communication for a full week as to whether or not they received the document or processed it. There was no delay with it's delivery since I live within a 2 mile radius. Then they still deducted two more payments despite having fulfilled the agreed to requirements for the termination. I called the recurring billing phone number associated with the transaction and to my surprise they informed me that only the local gym itself could stop the payments. To my dismay, I have been forwarded to voicemail and ignored via email when I try to communicate with any staff. When I enter the gym during regular business hours the manager is either not present or is supposedly in 'meetings all day' with his door locked. It is now December 2nd and they have not communicated with me at all about my request to terminate my membership.Business response

We sincerely apologize for any confusion regarding the terms of your membership agreement. As discussed in our most recent communications with you at the club, your account has been cancelled, and the two payments in question have been refunded.
