I was the high bidder of a mirror from *** labeled “********* ******* ***** ******* ****** * ****** ****** **** ******** ******* The only description was labeled ‘Good’ with no further written details. On the auction item there were a series of photos are are supposed to be used as “the description” In the mirror photos - being a mirror, there are light reflections, stuff going on in the back ground, and the obvious dark age spots on an older mirror. I arrived at the residence to pick up said mirror and the mirror has a series of gouges in the glass about 4” long that were fraudulently left out of the description and in fact described this as “good” condition. They represent this 4” gash in the photos by seemingly focusing on something, but it looks like paint. In fact, when the attendant brought the mirror out & I pointed out the scratches- she went & got glass cleaner thinking it was removable. *** deliberately left out necessary & important language such as “gouge” “scratch” “defect” “deep scratches” in order to get the premium price that I paid. I have purchased a mirror from *** in June/22 where they WERE very descriptive in the language & I knew what to expect when I arrived. That mirror’s description notes were “Shows light scuffing and dings to wood trim consistent with age and use.” How hard would it have been to say “scratches in lower right hand corner” so you know what you’re supposed to be looking at in the pictures - not to be confused with paint/ reflection.? I’m a regular auction purchaser and this is not “laziness” it’s a attempt to get higher overall prices, therefore higher over commissions- for the dishonest person running this sale & cataloging these items. Clearly the company profits as well. After looking at the BBBs ratings of the various auction services I frequent- I can stay your ratings are 100% accurate in my experience. My dispute happened yesterday 11/19. I did not take the mirror. I expect a full refund and a call Monday

About 2 weeks ago I started bidding on items in auctions hosted sellers ************.com. I bid on several different auctions and items, some of which were quite large. I'm new to this and not a resale business like many others; I'm simply trying to replace antiques and other items that were stolen from my home. The trouble started w/an auction in CT. Modern Day Auctions auction closed late in the evening yet expected items be picked up @ 10am the next morning. I live on LI, I'd have to leave at latest 6am and my brother was going to load /unload. That morning I learned my brother, was COVID positive and I had been exposed. I called the two auctioneers toexplain my situation in hopes they'd work with me but they're completely inflexible. I was told it didn't matter and I'd lose both my money and winning items if I didn't com see when dictated. I was able to get a friend help me go to CT and pick up the dresser & mirror. When I spoke to the auction manager she told me I could pick up on Wednesday of last week, which I did. I asked her why my account was suspended and she said because I hadn't picked up merchandise but as soon as I did MY account would be reinstalled...but that never happened so I still can't access MY account on the ************.com website. I've contacted both multiple times via email and phone with no resolution. Thank you. ****** ******

This interaction discussed in the complaint has nothing to do with any business transaction between the complainant and ***** **** *********.

The complainant has an issue with a seller (Modern Day Auctions) who uses ************'s auction software. Apparently, Modern Day Auctions blocked the complainant through ************'s marketplace.

We respectfully suggest that the complainant reach out to Modern Day Auctions to resolve the issue as it clearly pertains to a transaction between the complainant and Modern Day Auctions.

Again, this complaint is not about any business transaction between the complainant and ***** **** *********.
