ServiceMaster was hired to assist when our basement flooded. We have had nothing but problems since day one (Aug 2023). They failed to cover hvac returns in our house during demo causing mold to spread throughout our home (we had a newborn baby at the time and a 1 year old so this was very concerning). They also damaged our driveway with their trucks and vans and will not take accountability or assist in the repair. I believe that will be a separate matter we need to work through legally. If it is something you can assist with here please let me know. Once we had the basement mostly repaired we requested our barn wood walls to be brought back (ServiceMaster had them) so we can reinstall. They refused to return the wood unless we would release them from liability for the driveway. After a month of fighting for our property and getting many other parties involved, they agreed to return our wood. They returned it broken and also broke our alarm off our house in the process. When I asked the manager to come look at what happened he said no and they will not repair anything. I worked through that issue after several months and now am looking to have our belongings returned to the property (service master has them in storage). They once again are refusing to return our belongings to us. We have 2 people without a place to sleep until we get those belongings back and they are refusing to return our stuff and are not returning my calls. I am not sure if I need police involved but this is very frustrating and wrong. When they took our stuff they said we would have access to it always and can call anytime we need something returned and they would return it. This is proving to be untrue. On July 3rd, 2022, we had a condo fire we were advised by the fire department that we had 10 minutes to gather everything we could because of the carbon monoxide. The condo association sent a request to service master to come and evacuate the property, and quote us a price for items that needed to be removed, prior to demo. the next day service master came and we spoke to Luis who was the supervisor for the team for that day and was in charge for reviewing and marking the salvage vs non salvage items. we spoke to Jay on the phone who stated that the quote would be 15-20K for the removal when we requested a bill or quote in writting he said that he couldnt give that to us. i signed the paper from Luis stating they could work, based on the verbal quote from Jay the manager. we complained about the broken items and what we went thru with all the quotes and were never given any paperwork while this ordeal happened, they refused to speak to us about numbers because they were dealing with travelers our insurance, they repeadely asked our adjuster what our max on the policy was, several times. they charges us 42k and 1500.00 for replacement of broken items. we kept taking about what happened at the storage facility and Jeff the senior operations manager shut the door to the storage room, and stated that if we were going to pay we had nothing further to discuss. we were forced to sign the papers to get possession of our items or else we would have to pay $1000 month in storage fees because we were not able to take out our items from storage . we asked to look and inspect before signing and he stated they were not there for that. Once travelers paid me, service master then contacted me and sent me the quote , and bill that i requested in the beginning, i disputed items that were not valid , ex: clothing bedding, and other misc. items that they can't explain. on top of that damaged items in boxes. 1500.00 was not enough to cover damages by them. we have pics, and text mess
