My backup camera wasn't working on my leased car. I brought the car in to have them look at it on 12/06/2023 and they provided a loaner car. About two weeks after dropping it off, they stated that the problem was the back up camera button next to the shifter inside the car. They stated they found a brown sticky substance. I told them if that was the problem they could replace it and she quoted me about $300. I got an update about a week later that they replaced the button but the camera still wasn't working but it was going to cost about $600 because of the length of time it was taking to fix. On 1/19/24 I got a call saying the car was ready to be picked up. I asked what the problem was and they said it was a faulty camera that they replaced and it was covered under warranty and it was going to cost almost $700. I clarified with her that the button was NOT broken and causing the problem with the camera and she confirmed that it was a faulty camera and it was not the button. When picking up my car I was charged $634 with a discount applied. I asked why I was being charged for the button that was NOT broken but replaced and they told me that the store would be charged for it so they were charging me instead. After receiving the invoice paperwork they also stated that they replaced the camera before they replaced the button so they were not liable. There was also damage to the interior where the buttons are located that was not there before the car was brought it. I made a claim with Hyundai corporate who has tried contacting them but they have not gotten back to them. I have also made another claim that they have not responded to.

On Thursday, O**ober 19th, we arrived to pick up a car with a bank check for my son to be registered in his name. When working with the finance person, he said he didn't get advance notice we were coming (problem #1) and couldn't register the car because my son hadn't previously registered a car in ** and it was after the *** closed. Said it would take 30 seconds the next day. They gave us dealer plates and we left. My son has called 4 times and left messages and no one has gotten back to him. I have called twice on different days and left messages and no one has gotten back to me. The business owes us a partial refund from a miscalculation and also needs to do the registration as they committed to. This has been 1 week with no resolution and no response at all to at least 6 attempts to conta** them. They have not tried to resolve the dispute.

Dealership has known about an issue with my car since July. They know it will not pass emissions until the issue is resolved. This is work covered under warranty. They have promised a loaner vehicle but have not assigned me one. My registration has now expired and I cannot drive my vehicle. This leaves me with no car. I am entitled to a rental through the warranty but I cannot get one until the dealership opens a ticket. My car is on their lot but they cannot tell me when a ticket will be opened. They suggested I get a rental vehicle on my own. Out of pocket a rental vehicle will cost about $1500 per month… and the dealership has not been able to tell me how long I will need said rental. I cannot afford to rent a vehicle just because the dealership has no idea when they will fix my car. I’ve already waited 2 months for this work to be completed. I have already contacted ******* *** and all they could do was schedule me an appointment. That appointment date has passed. I would like the repair completed on my vehicle. I would like either a loaner vehicle or a rental (not at my expense) until the work has been completed. If the work cannot be completed, I would like to trade the car for one without warranty issues.

THE CUSTOMER WAS AWARE THAT WE NEEDED TO START WITH A OIL CHANGE TO RESTART THE WARRANTY PROCESS AND BE ABLE TO RESOLVE ISSUES UNDER WARRANTY. STEP ONE WAS TO CHECK OIL LEVEL, START WITH FRESH OIL CHANGE, AND RE CHECK IN 1,000 MILES. CUSTOMER HAS BEEN CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO FUTURE SOLUTIONS.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

after many attempts to get the situation resolved, I was only told about the oil change two weeks ago.  I was asked to drive 1000 miles and come back, no appt necessary.  I returned today but was told I need an appt and to please come back on Monday.  I was also told at this time that the warranty might not cover the issue and that I’m possibly facing a $2600+ bill.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *****

I purchased a car with extended warranty in June of 2021. On November 18th, 2021, I requested cancellation of this extended warranty in person at the dealership. I signed all paperwork presented for the cancellation, and left. 30 days later, I made a request for proof of the cancellation. The dealership provided what they claimed was a receipt from the warranty provider, ***** ********, via email. 90 days later, after never receiving the refund, I contacted ***** ********. The warranty company told me that the dealership's "receipt" was simply a non-binding quote, and that no cancellation had been filed. The dealership is no longer responding to my requests for an answer or resolution.
