Hired Mascettis plumbing late September to do a septic tie-in. The owner quoted me $1800. Week after week of excuses saying he ‘will get it done next week’ finally December 15th he showed to to do the work. I met him at the property to give a $1300 deposit. He immediately packs up (without doing any work) and says his plan won’t work and he can’t do any work until we’ll after the new year. He calls me back with a $6800-10000 quote for the septic tie in and new drains and vents in the bathroom. I contacted three other plumbers who all stated his original plan would never work. I contacted them repeatedly to at least get a receipt for my deposit. On December 27th they finally sent me a receipt recognizing I paid a $1300 DEPOSIT. On December 30th I contacted them and said I’d no longer need/use their services (again before any work was ever done to the property) and well over a month later I have no refund. I contacted the company again January 21st and spoke to who I believe was a secretary who stated the owner will call me. On the 24th of January I followed up and the owner answered and stated he will have to figure out what I can get back trying to say he’s billing for time/materials that were never spent/installed. A few pvc connectors were left at the property and saved. They were notified December 30th that they could go onto the property to take any of the connectors they left behind (again not installed). I have images showing that not a single pipe/connector was used. The main line coming under the house is still capped from the septic company. I’m demanding my deposit back.
