Our son is going to the Academy Dicapelli in **** ******** **. to be certified to be a Barber. He’s paying $18,000 for an 8 month course. The concern he and we as parents, the school only teaches from 8:30am -10:00 and then the students go to the “shop” and sit there most days and no customers come in. They’re literally sitting and waiting for someone to hopefully come in for a haircut… NOT being Taught anything??? What are they ALL paying for????Business response

We are disappointed this is the first that we are hearing from you. We meet with students monthly to review their progress and discuss any questions/concerns and your son has not raised any issues. Our curriculums are based on the state approved guidelines which require theory and practical education with an emphasis on the practical hands-on experience being very important given the nature of the license here. During practical hours, we provide our students with demonstrations and exercises to compete with their mannequins and customers during salon hours. We are happy to discuss with you and/or your son his education at any time. Please feel free to contact us directly.
