3/8/2025 I went to look at a ******* ****** 2017 at this dealership, The sales person was Nicolas, did the test drive, liked the car and now is the time for the paperwork process. Nicolas stated that i needed to leave money down to hold the car due to the financial person was not available.I ****** and my Husband ****** gave them $500 each my transaction was from debit and ****** was his credit card. Things did not work out and we were told that a Full refund will ne given the same way it was received. All of a sudden they only give refunds on Thursdays and there was a policy stating this that was Never shown nor told to us at the time. They have been giving me and my husband the run around and using Bullying tactics to not give me my refund.I spoke to Carlos the top manager who said we will definitely get a refund this has been a long week of aggravating lies and nonsense. Carcentral is very deceiving and does not tell the customers the truth. They want me to take a check and not return it back to my card they use the same Bank(Chase) and they wanted my husbands card and pin to return the money to his card. I just want my money back for the both of us Nicolas gave me a letter promising my returns the same way it was received but they are telling me differently now I just want them to be investigated and my refund given the way it was received and or cash and back to my husbands card

On May 14, 2024 I went to * *** * **** ***** (DBA Car Central Sales) to look at a car they advertised online. The car was a 2010 ***** **** with just under 100,000 miles on it. I met with the salesperson who said that “anything that is greater than 50% worn will be fixed or replaced.” I test drove it. They replaced the brake pads while I was there “because they were almost at 50%.” I signed the paperwork and drove the car home. The next morning, on my way to get my new plates, the check engine light came on. I brought it to a place in town to have diagnostics run and the report said the issue was the catalytic converter. I called the dealer to tell them what was going on and they said to bring it back to them so they could check it out. I brought it back to the dealer the next day and they looked it over and assured me the catalytic converter was fine and it was “a faulty sensor,” which they said they replaced. They did not supply any paperwork reporting this, just sent me on my way. Since that time, the brakes have been rattling and the check engine light keeps going off and on. I brought it to my local ***** dealer last week to have the brakes looked at and spent over $300 having the calipers replaced as well as a sensor in the left tire. I also asked them to check out the reason for the check engine light and today they gave me a report indicating that the entire exhaust system needs to be replaced—from the catalytic converter to the muffler ($8192.88). The dealer reported that the exhaust is rusted out, and there is no way that happened over the past couple of months during the summer. It seems likely that the catalytic converter has been an issue since the day after I bought it and I brought it back to them and they told me it was fine. Unfortunately, nowhere in their paperwork does it state that they “fix or replace anything >50% worn but they repeatedly told me that on the day I purchased the vehicle. I just want them to cover the cost of the repairs.

I recently purchased a car, they illegally put ** plate on it and let me drive it off the lot when i live in ****.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/20/2024

Hi ******, we have sorted this issue out already, so we are not sure why you are continuing to bring it up. We did not allow you to "illegally" drive the car off of the lot. You did not tell us your registration and plates were cancelled at the time of the sale, otherwise we would have never let you leave the lot. You decided to tell us three weeks after. It's unfortunate you are trying to fabricate this situation. But thank you for taking the time to leave a review!

    Customer Answer

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: It seems you are trying to fabricate this situation, on time of the sale the plates and registration weren't cancelled, the registration was expired, and you should've known that since you guys copied my registration and gave me the copied version. You also forgot to address the fact that you put expired ** plates on a vehicle that was going to get registered in **, ** doesn't register temp. plates, and I'm pretty sure you can't "transfer" ** plates to a ** vehicle. Also you can't say you were unaware of the situation because one, on the time of the sale and when I went to go test drive the car I asked multiple times "how would registering the car go since I no longer live in **, I live in **" and you guys said "we would just send our runner to a ** *** and register the car" and two, you guys had three sales guys look at the car that I traded in for the ** **** ***** ** and saw that the plates were from ** and that they were expired, yet said nothing about it, and then when I signed all the paper work you guys proceeded to put the expired ** plates on the new vehicle. Also I've had the car for almost 2 months now, already did my first payment and I still don't have the plates or the new registration, you guys lost the title and I had no idea till my insurance agent told me "that car (the **** *****) isn't even registered" I called you guys to then find out your runner lost the title, and I wasn't even notified. We have now been going back and forth for 4 weeks on when I would get plates so that I can actually drive my new car. It has been parked since my insurance company notified me that it was not registered and I have been having to get picked up by a co worker just to get to work. I was told they were overnighted and it has been a week and I still do not have plates. You have not offered to help in any way. When I can and I speak to a manager and told I will receive a call back no one calls and I end up having to call the following day.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *****

I gave $1000 deposit to reserve a car i wanted to buy. They assured me i would get approved and be able to get the car same day, they already had my credit score when they said this. After they applied to the banks for loan financing, they didnt approve me for the car. Since they couldnt provide the car i reserved i wanted a refund. They said its non-refundable, but they can offer different cars. I said i only deposited for this specific car and since you cant sell it to me i want a refund, and they said its non negotiable. They assured me i would get approved in the beginning, then they asked to increase my deposit twice, it was originally 500, then 1000, then 2000, and then they finally said they cant approve me. I wanted to buy it i didnt want a refund, so i didnt mind the non refundable sign, but i didnt know i wouldnt get approved especially when they assured me i will, i wasnt going to just change the car to something i didnt want. Im aware the contract said no refunds, i didnt plan on a refund until they couldnt deliver the car.

Hello ******, as stated in the photograph you have attached, the deposits are non-refundable. You have also initialed on this part, so you aware of the circumstances. We tried to get you approved in many vehicles, but considering the situation, it was not easy. We invested many hours into this process, and we do not work for free. So, unfortunately, the deposit is non-refundable.

I am rejecting this response because: i was assured i would get approved even after i did my credit application and you guys had my credit score. If there was risk of not being approved i wouldnt have done the deposit first, i was repeatedly assured you guys can get me approved and in the car the same day. You guys couldnt get me approved then asked for a bigger deposit, i was gonna come down and make it 2k because you guys said, thank god i didnt

I purchased a vehicle 1/20/24, I was told the vehicle was in great condition, all tests passed and parts in good condition. 18 days later the vehicle requires major repairs and they amount to almost more than half the cars value. I put 5000 down and even then the loan amount wasn’t explained they slammed me with paperwork and rushed me through without explaining any of the terms for financing or where my payment was applied to the principle.

    Dear *********,

All our vehicles go through a Multi Point Inspection, and we conduct K-208 safety inspections for all our vehicles before they are sold. The vehicle was in sound condition when you bought it, but considering it is a 19 year old vehicle, there will be possible issues. We have reached out to you multiple times in order to reach a resolution, but you refuse to comply with us.

    Thank you for your time.

    Dear *****,

Unfortunately this review is fabricated and untrue. You have failed to make your first payment with the bank, which resulted in a repossession. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do in this situation. We never rush our customers to buying a vehicle, and make sure the process is as easy and smooth as possible. Thank you for understanding.

May 2023, I purchased a 2014 *** ****** ***** *** through the dealership with a service protection since it was a used vehicle. The beginning of January the transmission went, and it was brought to the dealership. They contacted the service protection company, and the claim was denied since it is a cargo van. It has been a circle of finger pointing between the dealership, service protection company (****** ***), and **** ****. If this type of vehicle isn't covered by this type of protection plan, then they shouldn't be selling it with the vehicle.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/25/2024

Dear ****** ******, this is solely a issue with the warranty company. We sold the car to you more than nine months ago, and the vehicle passed both Connecticut Safety Emissions and all safety inspections, and was in sound condition when it left our dealership. You have purchased an aftermarket warranty through ****** ***, and therefore you have to take the issue up with them. Thank you for your understanding,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The van was actually purchased a little over 8 months ago from Car Central.  The service contract was purchase at the time of sale of the cargo van.  According to ****** *** the claim was denied because it is a commercial vehicle and they do not cover commercial vehicles.  Therefore, we were mislead into purchasing a service contract that we could not use.  Just because the van passed emissions and safety inspections at that time doesn't mean things don't happen down the road hence why you sold us a service contract on this vehicle.  Car Central is responsible for this van.  Please see attached documents.

    Sincerely,

11/26/22 paid $1,200 deposit toward a vehicle. 11/28/22 before any financing was finalized, called and told them I did not want to purchase the vehicle. They were offering an 18.9% interest rate and discouraged me from starting over with a co-signer because I “could refinance any time.” They lied to me and said financing was approved and told me that if I backed out I lost my deposit because “they don’t work for free” and they “could have sold the vehicle twice”. Financing had not been approved, I canceled the application after the fact. They instructed me to lie to the finance company, did not supply me with copies of what I signed, were highly unprofessional over the phone, and still have my license plate and registration and aren’t responding to my email. I will file in small claims court if necessary.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/07/2022

***** *********’s complaint is fabricated. On November 26, ***** ********* came in to see the 2012 ****** ****** we had in inventory. ***** test drove the vehicle and then decided to sit with our finance manager to run the numbers and make a deal. Our manager told him all the information on the loan and the he was approved. We told him to think about it before he signed the electronic contract with the bank. He got approved for the vehicle by ********. Since Saturday is our busiest day of the week we had other customers interested in buying this vehicle and we turned them away while ***** was there. ***** decided to go through with the deal with us and signed the contract with the bank for a non-refundable deposit for 1200. ******** asked for stipulation for the underwriter. ***** complied by giving us proof of income and address and the car was ready to be registered. While waiting for the underwriters approval on Monday November 28, he called about the status of the loan, we told him it shouldn’t take more than 48 hours. He later called saying he found the same car for a better price, we told him we were willing to check the car he found to compare prices, he did not give us any information in regards to the other vehicle. When ***** called to back out, his loan was already approved, he then called ******** himself to cancel the loan. Before submitting his complaint with the Better Business Bureau, he went all over review websites and began to tarnish our reputation by leaving bad reviews including making fake accounts to further lower our ratings. Since ***** cancelled his loan himself the deposit is non-refundable.

    Complaint: 18474744

I am rejecting this response because:

    1. The dealership still hasn’t provided me with copies of the paperwork I signed with them

    2. They did not tell me the deposit was non refundable

    3. The finance company had not approved my loan at the time of cancellation.

    4. Nothing that they have claimed justifies them keeping $1,200

    5. I don’t know how I would have “fabricated” negative reviews that were submitted well before I ever encountered then. Frankly if I was that good with computers I wouldn’t have applied to finance a used minivan from them at 18.9% interest with another $3,000+ I closing fees.

Apparently they feel they need my money more than I do. I’m no expert but it certainly feels predatory. I will be pursuing the matter in small claims court if it is remains unresolved.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *********

On September 2, 2022 we sold a 2014 *** to ***** *****. He test drove the vehicle and found no problems. We told him he would not be able to take his vehicle the same day due to hold ups with finance. He took the car to Honda, they diagnosed the car with bad struts and subsequently he called us threatening us with gun violence. Around September 12, a few days after said phone call, we agreed to look at the vehicle for the next day and he did not bring his vehicle in for a month. We found no issues with the vehicle. He has been unwilling to work with us, thus we are unwilling to work with him.
