Hired Joe's Dustless Blasting to fully sandblast a mason dump bed and truck frame. This type of job normally takes 2 days to complete however the owner, Joe, said he would push through and get the job done in one day. He didn't show up until 9:45 that morning and then texted me that he was complete by 4pm. Due to the time of day, lighting was minimal due to the time of day. I immediately noticed a number of areas (to include VERY large areas) were completely skipped. Joe tried to say he couldn't do those areas but then after reminding him those areas were part of the scope of work, he then was "magically" able to do some of the missed areas. Fast forward another two hours (now 6:30pm and COMPLETELY pitch black) and it appeared the truck was done (less a lot of smaller areas that I was giving him the benefit of the doubt on). Upon inspection the very next day when it was light out, there are a TREMENDOUS amount of missed areas which were easily accessible and not obstructed by brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tanks, etc. I tried contacting Joe but he won't answer my phone calls and won't call me back. He subsequently texted me, saying that I shouldn't have given him the money if I wasn't happy. I was repeatedly told that I "was in good hands" and that I "will be happy" with everything. Obviously I am not and Joe doesn't want to make it right.Customer response

We hired Joe's Dustless Blasting to take years of bottom paint off of our wood boat. He came to look at the boat while it was in the water and gave us an estimate of $3,000. When the boat came out of the water he came back down and then quoted us $6,500. I understand him changing the estimate after seeing the boat but that was a very big increase. My husband was not happy with the quote so Joe sugguested that we do the clean up. At first my husband agreed but then decided since the material is toxic he would rather have Joe do the clean up. Joe agreed and the agreed upon price was $5,800. When my husband went down to pay him there was no clean up at all! He told my husand to go hire some Mexican's down the street to clean it up and gave him $100 back. My husband then spent 4 hours cleaning up the mess that Joe was supposed to take care of. With still more to be done. I called Joe and after going back and forth Joe said he would go back down, clean up the rest and take the bags my husband filled and refund us an additional $200. He did go back and took the bags and did a little cleaning. To date he has still not given us the refund and is not returning out texts and emails. The day of the job Joe sent a text to my husband at 9:08am to say that he was there and another email at 1:28pm to say he was done. Those hours did not include clean up which as mentioned my husband did. So in all he was going to give us a total refund of $300 but have only received $100. Joe didn't do any of the cleaning and since the agreed upon $5,800 included cleaning more of a refund is requested.Business response

Hi this is Mr Joseph B**** ***
I was hired by Mr *** to blast them both bottom paint off his boat we agreed on a price for cleanup too and I explained to him I could clean up as much as I can the boat was situated on jack stands and on the keel there are blocks of wood that you couldn't put a tarp underneath it and I explained you should have put a tarp before lasting your boat.
So I told Mr *** that I could do the best I can cleaning up and I did refund him $100 this conversate for a little bit of part that I couldn't clean up cuz I couldn't get to it.
I've been in business since 2007 and I never had a complaint about boats and clean up unfortunately his wife had to know send her a word out and was very rude on the phone with me to start off.

I am rejecting this response because: We have in an email for Joe stating that he would give us an additoanl refund of $200 because he did not clean up at all! We were charged $500 extra (also in an email) for clean up. We have 4 bags of chipped paint and dust that we collected that he did not even attempt to clean. Was I rude? Yes probably because we paid $5800 for a job that he did not complete. The bottom pain is considered toxic and should be handled in such a way to not have the dust flying everywhere. Where are we supposed to dispose of toxic material. We have all correspondence in wriitng from Joe.

Hi to whom it may concern, I recently has received a letter from you guys and Mrs *** is stating that I never came back and cleaned upr from the last time and I did come back I have pictures to prove it., Plus I took away three four bags so she's not getting her story straight it's going back and forth she's telling lies so you decide I'm not giving no refund I gave them $100 refund already. thank you

I am rejecting this response because: I have never stated that Joe did not come back. He did come back but the bags he picked up were the bags my husband filled as seen in the photos that I sent. So I think the person not telling the truth is Joe. He did come back to collect the bags and as stated before finished what my husband did 90% of. So yes he did 10% of clean up.
