The very first appointment to bring my son was scheduled with the medical practice, due to a misunderstanding and an emergency we ended up not being able to bring our son and they are charging us $100 no show fee. The date of the appointment was 2/21/24. The no show fee they are charging us is $100. I called the practice and spoke with Shannon (who didn't provide her last name and has the position of supervisor of billing), after explaining the situation and asking that the no show fee be kindly waived so that we can bring our son to be seen, she declined and demanded that the fee be paid. I also explained that we never were informed about their policies nor have we seen them posted as we have never been there before. We didn't signed any documents accepting those conditions as the appointment was scheduled over the phone. Those terms, frankly are abusive and unfair.Business response

Mr. ********* called CT Asthma and Allergy Center on 2/14/2024 and booked a New Patient appointment for 2/21/2024. Durint this call many disclousures are covered with the caller including our check-in process, what documents are needed for the appointmnet and that if the appointment is cancelled same day or they don't come there is a $100 no show fee to be assessed. This fee helps us recoup the lost time the provider has from not having a patient during this time.
Patients are encouraged to review our website ahead of their first appointment with us, so they know what to expect. They can also review our No-Show policy on our website at this page: ****************************** *********
We also note our policy on our registration forms, since the initial appointment was missed, Mr. ********* didn't have the opportunity to see these in person, though they are available on our website h******************************************** and through the online My Chart Plus portal we offer to patients for e-check in. These forms should be completed prior to the appointment.
Mr. ********* can opt to not pay this fee and find his son a different Allergist in the state, or he can pay this fee and re-book with one of our Providers.
