Freedom solar LLC an owner Thomas D*****. Are a fraudulent business. They installed solar panels and were paid directly from the loan entity unbeknownst to me. The panels were installed in November and he received full payment immediately. Freedom Solar never completed the install and the panels are not operational. The permit was pulled for the install but not the electrical upgrade. Mr. D***** is only reachable by text and has changed his email twice. He continues to state that he is waiting on permits to be pulled that were never applied for. He has not reimbursed for the payment of the panels nor has he rectified the situation after 6 months with the exception of providing excuse after excuse. The business is not legit and a front. I called the place of business only to get a busy signal. I decided to go there to find a church.

Thomas the sales rep had stated initially while the panels are from ******** and the leasing is from ******** they would do all the communication to get the panels installed and activated. Panels have been installed since July-August of 2023 but have not yet been activated. Whenever I contact Thomas, he never answers the calls nor does he call back. Any time I send a text message, he never replies.

I had solar panels on my house installed about two years ago been, calling sun power and freedom. Solar for the last two years freedom. Solar told me that they were waiting for Eversource to approve the solar panels so I tried calling again recently still no answer I messaged him recently still no answer. I messaged him about a month ago and asked him if he could remove two solar panels that are in the way of me removing a skylight and blocking it off and putting shingle still didn’t get no answer. At this point, I just don’t know what to do. I haven’t had working solar panels since they were installed. They did all this work to my house without pulling a permit or anything now there’s drill holes through my shingles because who knows if I want to keep the solar panels after this amount of time. Please help me. And my current contract said it was canceled about a month ago because it’s been so long. If I do decide to keep the solar panels I would like the same contract because it was a good monthly payment that I decided I wanted to do two years ago now the rates have changed and it’s not fair to me that I should pay more rates, for some thing that should have been done in a month or two.

I signed up for solar panels early last year, they were installed the last week of November 2021. We started to experience leaks from our roof after rain the following week. We sent pictures and proof of the water damage constantly. The owner of the company Thomas finally admitted to the panels being installed wrong and that they needed to come off and our roof needed to be repaired as well as our interior ceilings due to the water damage. Promised dates have come and gone for the past year. After making a complaint with consumer protection services, Thomas promised to have the panels removed, and all damage repaired by November 21, 2023. This is after a year’s worth of damage, the work was not done. I know have water damage to multiple ceilings in my home and the water is traveling to my basement where we had an active leak of flowing water. At this point we just want the panels removed from our roof and the damage caused to be fixed. We even got two different roofing companies to access the damage and offer to do the work, Thomas and Freedom Solar USA declined that offer and said they would rather repair the damage themselves.

Started with Solar on 11/4/22. Panels delivered 2/24/23. Solars installed on 3/8/23. Numerous calls to Freedom Solar and S** ***** ***** have been made to try to get the Solars turned on. Each call is a different scenario for example.. in the beginning of the summer the solar will be turned on; problems with paper work, etc... It is now going into winter a year later and still the Solars have not been turned on. At this point we either want the solar turned on ASAP or the panels taken off and a new roof put on. I look forward to hearing from you to try to get this matter resolved. Sincerely, ****** *******

On October 2022 ******** came over to my house to offer Solar Energy installment. The sales person, Mr. D***** from ******** ************ ******* (contractor registration # *** *******) when thru the presentation and stated they would come back to sign and review the contract. I was told that once the contract was signed, my solar panels would be installed around January 2023. I did not receive any contact from the company until late March and out of the blue they came to install the panels. Two days later i received a call from Thomas D***** (salesperson ###-###-####), License #******* stating that his crew quit and he was trying to get another company to finish the job. Since this date, Mr. D***** has not contacted me or resolved the issue. I was told that the panels were supposed to start working by April or May of 2023 and they have not. I have tried calling, emailing, and texting with no resolution. It would take hours and months for Mr. D**** to respond and all he would say is "i got you" and then never follow thru. I explained to him, that i will not be making any payments or be responsible for any bills incurred, until this situation is resolved. Mr. D***** after multiple tries and constant tries, has made payments of $205/month to ********** ****** ***** from 3/2023-7/23. I have been getting threating text messages from ********** ****** ***** account stating that my payment is due, when my panels are not active. Mr. D**** stated that he would make these payments until the panel were activated and working and he is currently not responding to my messages. The town of ********* inspector came over to my house on 9/7/2023 and stated that they have filed a complaint against the company and suggested that i do the same. I am asking for assisting in this matter before this situation gets out of of control. I can be contacted at ###-###-####.

I signed a contract with Freedom Solar on 3/22/23 to install solar panels on my house. I made the first and only payment of $2868.80 on 3/27/23. I cancelled the contract on 6/12/23 for lack of progress, dissatisfaction with the design, and other issues. On 7/13/23 we agreed to the amount of money to be returned from the payment, and an invoice was to be emailed to me. It was not sent. A week later, 7/20/23, I asked about the status of the check and was told it would be sent by 7/27/23. It was never sent. On 7/31/23, I asked again about the check, having received nothing. Freedom Solar asked if I could accept money via *****, and I provided a name and phone number for a ***** account. No money was sent to that account. I asked again on 8/3/23 for payment. On 8/13/23 I got a reply that their bank was changed, and asked if I had a **** *** account, but I replied that I didn’t have one. It's now over 2 months since the contract was cancelled, and over one month since a settlement was agreed on. No check has been issued, and an online payment was offered but not carried through.

Hello *****, We sorry about the confusion.  As you stated, our bank had to be changed.  But we will resolve this ASAP.

      09/05/2023

On 8/16/23 Freedom Solar confirmed receipt of the BBB complaint, and said that no refund checks would be available for 10-14 business days because they had changed their bank. And ***** was no longer an option because the new bank (***) didn’t offer *****. I replied that a bank check could be used without having to wait for delivery of checks. Freedom Solar then replied that this wasn’t possible because they were out of the country until Aug 25. On Aug 30 I asked again about a check and was told to wait until next Thursday, Sept 7. No check of any kind was issued when Freedom Solar was back in the country through the last week of August.

I’m concerned that Freedom Solar is making excuses to avoid payment, or stalling because their funds are insufficient to provide a bank check.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:I believe Freedom Solar has the means to issue a check despite changing banks, as claimed. Bank checks are available to any business on working days.

On Sept 11 I asked if a check was sent Sept 7, and Freedom Solar replied ‘no’ because they didn’t have the money. They replied that they would send money in a week. On Sep 28 I asked again about a check or ***** to return the funds and have not had a response.

End of February 2023/beginning of March 2023 This company replaced a roof on our home as well as placed solar panels in our residence. The panels initially were not placed correctly as they were crooked. After sometime of the completion we find out from the building inspector in our town that permits were never pulled and approved. Months later we are still waiting for approval for the work this company has already done on our house. We still do not have solar and are completely unhappy with the process. Communication is slim to none from the company.

Hello ********, sorry that the process is taking a little longer then usual.  Like I told you and your husband the town inspector is on vacation.  When he gets back we’ll schedule your inspection.  Sorry again for the delay.

In June 2022 my husband and I entered into a contract with Freedom Solar. In that contract the latest possible anticipated date of completion was December 29, 2022. As of today, the job is not complete. This is solely due to a dispute between Freedom Solar in the electrician, they hired. Attached you will find proof of the dispute between the two parties. Our initial inspection failed due to the work that was done by Freedom. After that we heard nothing unless we reached out. Still nothing happened until March of 2023 because I was tired of paying Eversource increased prices. Since then it has been a series of back-and-forth unsuccessful attempts by my husband and I to get these panels running. Attached you will find our contract and a photo of the text message from the electrician, saying Freedom was not paying him. I am unable to attach the series of emails, but I will be happy to forward that she wants the complete is officially open. I did attach a couple. In those emails, you will be able to see just how unprofessional Freedom Solar is. To this day they expect my husband and I to do all the legwork to get this done. At this point I expect a credit towards my utility bills. My other offer is they take the panels off and replace my roof for the damage. Had I known how poorly this company was run I would have never signed with them.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I offered your options of extending credit for the utility bills. They sky rocketed. Or  take the panels off and fix any damage to my roof.
      I am considering legal action.

      Sincerely,

July 1, 2022 this is when we signed agreement papers for Solar system. No money paid out. At the time of signing the papers we were told that all would be said and done by November 2022. It is now May 10, 2022. Though the panels and hook ups, installed late summer of 2022, electrical work done January 2022 (failed town inspection in February) and as far as we know, it’s not been resolved. I was in contact with the town on May 9, 2023 to see if a permit for ********** was pulled. They said no, but said the electrical work was denied. Thomas called me in April (not sure of the date)said that ********** would be changing the meter in 2-3 week. So, needless to say, the solar panels are not working. I’ve called Thomas Davies multiple times this week. And, he’s yet to return the calls. This is not uncommon for him to not call. Very bad communication. I’ve contacted the installer ******** **** & and the Lessor, ******** *******. They were no help. We are very frustrated with this. We would like your help in getting this matter taken care off. We have 2 other neighbors in the neighborhood with the same issues.
