Jan 4 car accident took my father in laws life. Tow company called 10 days later demanding I get the car removed and pay them 2800. Dollars. The insurance company and I have called dozen of times but no-one answers. Have visited the place several times to find no-one present at the business. No-one can remove the car until Someone answers the phone or actually be present at the business. 2800 dollars seems like a scam for a tow and a few days storage.Business response

The person who filed this complaint we did not conduct any busines with or speak with on the issue. No Money was ever demanded from the owner of the vehicle, as everything went through the insurance company. The Office Manager was in contact with the owner of the vehicle the whole time in a very respectful manner due to the tragedy of the situation. Our business hours are from 8-5 Monday – Friday and Saturday 8-1 and the owner of the vehicle knew this and was told this. They came to the shop the next day after the accident to get some belonging and went over everything with her and helped her with what to do next. Her brother was also there and understood the procedure and protocol of what happens after an accident. I’m not sure where this guy is coming from saying no one was answering the phones because we were in contact with insurance company at all times and with the owner of the vehicle. As the person who filed this complaint was not the owner of the vehicle, we by law, are not to speak to him about the vehicle or anything related to it because it did become a police investigation because someone died. Again no money was demanded or asked to be paid, it was covered by owners insurance company and vehicle was picked up by said insurance company.

I am rejecting this response because: everything said by owner was false. I am the owner of the car and the insurance company tried for three weeks to get a hold of the shop with no sucess. I personally went there five times during business hours and the owner wAs never there. Ask him how long the car was in storage. Ask him how much he charged for the storage. The man is a crook

The Vehicle in question was in an accident on 1/4/2023 and was released to the insurance on 1/24/2023 and was picked up by the insurance company on 1/27/23. All storage charges that were charge by our company are regulated by the state of ***********. We cannot charge any more than $26.00 a day for the first 5 days of storage, than $31 a day after that. So, I'm not sure where this gentleman is getting at calling me a crook when I have to follow *** regulations. If he had visited the shop during business hours, he would have either spoke or scene my Office Manager Matt or my Mechanic Rick. I as the own, am not always there every second of the day. But again, Matt who was handling this case, only spoke to this ***** gentleman once and it was not a very pleasant conversation. Every time we spoke to a young lady who verified herself as the owner of the vehicle and that's who we dealt with on this matter. She is the one who got us all the insurance information and kept us informed about what was going on. This ***** is making a false compaint and had nothing to do with this case.
