      Dispute Resolution Team
      The Better Business Bureau

      Dear Dispute Resolution Team:
I hereby submit this response on behalf of BSA Business Software Alliance, Inc. d/b/a BSA | The Software Alliance (“BSA”) to the January 18, 2023 complaint with an ID of 18834276 submitted to the Better Business Bureau of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania, sent to me via electronic mail notification on the afternoon of January 24, 2023.
By way of background, in support of its non-profit mission to advance the interests of the software industry, BSA operates in dozens of countries around the world, helping its members protect their intellectual property and drive innovation by, among other things, leveraging available legal remedies for takedowns of unlicensed or unauthorized resellers and listings of software products on online marketplaces.
BSA works with its software publisher members to identify online marketplace listings on a daily basis of unlicensed or authorized software in contravention of U.S. Copyright law, and in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), execute takedown procedures implemented by marketplaces such as ****.
With respect to the specific concerns set out in the complainant’s report, according to our records BSA does not have any customer relationship with the complainant.  According to BSA’s understanding, the complainant emailed the general information email box of our affiliate on January 23, 2023 with an inquiry regarding **** (****) takedowns performed by BSA. On the same date, our team responsible for this program responded to the complainant stating that BSA could investigate the query if we are provided with the Seller Name and the Auction ID(s) for the listing(s) removed, and we also indicated in the same email the **** (****) email address that is available to direct inquiries regarding specific takedowns on that platform. On January 24, 2023, the complainant sent an email response with a report of **** listings of three separate **** users that allegedly sell ‘“Cracked” “Hacked” activations for ******* products like *****, *** portal and more’. The complainant did not provide to BSA the Seller Name, Auction ID(s) or any other information for his own listing(s) removed from **** as described in this complaint. As such, BSA does not have sufficient information to further investigate if we have submitted for removal by **** (****) any listing(s) belonging to the complainant.
Thank you for providing BSA the opportunity to respond to this complaint. In light of the above, BSA considers this matter to be closed. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions.

      Sincerely,

      Adam ** C*****
