My son had an overnight EEG done on February 8, 2022. The safety event that concerns me is an EEG Technician being excessively aggressive with my son. The technician was called into the room by another technician because she could not get one of the cords to work. I held my son's arms so he would not try to pull on it and the initial nurse held his feet to make sure he did not kick. The issue was fixed, and the initial nurse left. The aggressive technician rewrapped his head. Then he started to tap on both of his ears and my son moved his head to one side. I was about to hold his hands and the technician told me "No, it's ok" Then he grabbed my son and with one hand held both of his hands and with the other grabbed both of his feet and started putting his weight on my son and saying, "look at me, look at me" and then said, "I'm bigger than you!" "Do you hear me?" I told him my son is not going to respond. My son is non-verbal and he knew this from his medial questionnaire provided prior to the EEG and even if he was verbal this behavior is absolutely uncalled for. I was horrified and said No! Stop! What are you doing? Why are you doing this? And he stopped and kind of snapped out of it. He said "oh, I needed to check something around his ear" He then left. If he would have told me he needed to check his ear, then I would have held him myself like I had done before. I would even prefer restraints instead of a 6'3" man that weighs about 300lbs grabbing my son and putting his weight on him. My son has bruises where he held him down! This is absolutely unacceptable. This technician is dangerous and should not be working with children or any vulnerable individual. His name is JAEL (pronounced jail) and he did not provide a last name. Please ensure that his does not happen to another child.
