In June I had a follow up appointment with Dr E******: I took a bill into his office and had his office staff look at it. I as told I owed $160. I tried to pay $200 but was told the appointment that day was included in the original bill. I asked are you sure, and I was told that I didn't owe the hospital anymore then $160. I wrote a check and was reassured that I was paid in full. Three weeks later I received another bill for over $200. My wife thought that they probably screwed up and just wait to see. I received another bill a month later for $40. I figured that they must have accidentally charged me for the appointment with Dr. E****. I tried calling billing and spent hours on hold that week and never reached them. A month later I received another $40 bill. I called *************** office and explained my concern. I received no help. A few weeks later I received a $30 bill from a collection agency. I called the hospital and then the agency. I was told by the agency that it was a bill for a office visit with Dr. C******** from the end of April which was 7 weeks before I saw Dr. E******* on which this visit I was told I only owed what I paid. I paid that bill that evening on October 18th because the collection agency told me it was the copay from the visit in late April and I remembered there was no one in the office, when I left, to pay my copay to. Anyway now I have received another $50 bill from the collection agency, this time they could not explain why I was being charged. However, they did see where I had paid the $30. I am greatly disappointed in Medstar Georgetown Hospital over telling me one thing and then jerking me around. I'm not going to pay money I don't owe. If they can show what the money is for and I did owe it of course I would pay it. Dr. C*********** is mean and nasty and has no people skills. I was warned about him by the Surgeon who recommended him however, he said he was the best for my type of injury. Very Sad!! I need help with for it seems I'm being harassed.
