Upon checking in 3/25 for my daughter's bday I was informed the reservations I made in February were overlooked so the hotel unprofessionally overbooked their hotel.. my daughter and her friends had to sleep in 1 bed with their room distanced from me.. I specifically booked a double bed queen room next to mine because of the children The following day 3/26, I took my children out for my daughter's bday in DC. Upon returning back to hotel we discovered my room was broken into all my daughter's bday gifts, my school laptop, clothes,shoes hygiene etc were all stolen. I immediately got the cops on the phone as my 10 and 4 yr old were extremely frightened, shaken,shaken,. Its my daughter's bday. I went to the manager on duty and let them know as well as contacting police.The staff was very rude and biased to the situation. Not only did they steal all of our belongings but they peed and pooped on the nightstands and left their clothes trash in the room and did extensive damage to the room itself. The manager blamed me saying I broke into my own room that I did this. Even after the cops verified that a breaking happened and police report was filed etc.. Needless to say we couldn't finish our 3 day reservation due to emotional distress,, no belongings And fear of being robbed or hurt. We left the exact same night after the cops left. Itwas an extremely horrible experience. I contacted booking.com the 3rd party I used to get a refund for my stay due to the circumstances and us only staying 1 night versus the 3 i paid for.. They informed me that the hotel had to approve the refund request . They reached out to the hotel they never responded. So I called and sent emails to them myself no response to email. And by phone I was told I'd be contacted by management I never was. Now this morning 3/29. I received a message from *******.com stating although the hotel verified the incidents took place the refused to refund me my money. When me and my young children were robbedInitial Complaint

I took a trip to DC & NY from Dec. 11-18 2021. I originally booked a stay at The Ivy City Hotel for a week but checked out on Sun, Dec. 12th after only 1 night due to the environmental hazards. Upon check, the room was paid in full for the whole stay and upon checkout, with receipt verification, I was due a refund of $535.49 signed by the desk clerk in pen. I checked into a different hotel the same night. On Dec. 22, 2021, after 7-10 business days, I called the hotel to confirm that they sent the refund and they said they said that they sent it and I should be receiving it on the next day. After trying multiply times with the business with the provided receipt I have yet to receive my refund.
