Pie Insurance sent a sales marketing flyer to (*********************** ******************** ********, ******************, Soquel CA. It stated that their records indicated my worker's comp insurance would expire on 8/29/2023, and they would quote me for a new policy.1. There is no *********************** at ************* My name is ******************* 2. I am the owner of **** ******** at ************* (for the last 16 years) 3. I do not have now, nor have I ever had employees, so no workman's comp has ever been required. 4. When I called to inquire into the possibility of contractor fraud (this *************** using my contractor's lic# and address to operate illegally, I was told they don't know how they got their information for their records, there was no one else in the company to discuss the issue with, and hung up on me 4 times. (I then resorted to this complaint) 5. I would like to find out where they get their info, so I can determine whether someone is fraudulently using my lic# and address, or if it's just gross incompetence on their end. (Which, after speaking to several different employees, (even though they all sounded like the exact same person) would seem a likely scenario.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with Pie. Upon internal review, we confirm that the marketing flyer in question was sent to the name and address stated in the complaint. Pie Insurance obtained the contact information used for the marketing campaign from a third-party vendor known as Insurance Xdate, LLC. We recommend contacting them to update or remove your information at [email protected].

Separately, we are disappointed to hear you had a negative experience when contacting Pie. As a company, we strive to deliver exceptional customer service, and it is disheartening to learn that we fell short with your interactions with us. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to improve.

They are not reliable. We just switched and already hate them! They are unable to reset your password. Something that simple, we are on a back and forth about this stupid subject for weeks now, yes you read that right! Something simple has become a nightmare, as my co-workers who deals with insurance are unable to connect with the account. Never have I ever in my life I came across something so ridiculous as this. This company is a complete joke. They had my account set up with the wrong email, I asked them to change that, after too many back and forth (not worth my time honestly) they were finally able to change to the correct email, however, someway somehow, they messed the entire account, they locked me out, and they are unable to get my account live again, it was just a simple reset and make you change a password. I am so ******, as we are unable to change any company's information, or bank information, or password for our own security. Their IT Team ***** and they don't know what they are doing, they keep milking the job that should have been done already. This is Insurance hard as a burnt crust pie. I don't recommend to anyone and as I read the other 1 star reviews everything starts to make sense now. I am already looking for another one because they're not worth my business.

My nonprofit purchased insurance from PIE for a short-term program. We paid the fees in full and canceled the policy at the end of the project. PIE stated that they might owe us a refund and they wanted to audit our salaries. I sent the salaries in to them. We made much less than they insured us for; however, we had to insure at a minimal level. We insured at $80,000 although our company makes less than $50,000 annually and since this is workman's comp insurance, we made around $10,000 although we insured for $80,000. They emailed me and said they were billing us more money after their audit as we made more than the amount we were insured for. This is not true. We made thousands less than we insured for. They created a bogus worksheet to say, oh no, you earned too much. You have to pay us more. I informed them that our policy was paid in full and has been canceled since September. We will not pay them an additional amount for monies we did not earn. They are now billing me continuously for an amount we do not owe to them. I have emailed them numerous times, but have decided that since they do not wish to acknowledge their error, and seem to be scamming customers for more money than the policies require, I am logging my complaint here.

Pie insurance renewed our policy at a much higher rate without confirmation from us. Pie insurance charged us for audit even before we agree to renew our policy with them. We called many times to remove charges for above reasons. They still sent us to collections. We never have issues with paying our bills but we will not pay wrongly charged bills. They need to send us apology letter and remove us from collections.
