On September 20th I hired "Johnson Law Group" with a $500 retainer fee to take my case to assist with disputing against my eviction process with representation . I signed a retainer agreement/ Legal Service Agreement based off the premises that the Law Firm would do their job and represent me in court against my LanLord. On the agreement it states in the terms of section 4 (b) A refundable retainer in the amount of $500 must be paid prior to commencing work. They drafted a demand letter requesting my LanLord to waive the back rent and to be compensated $15,000 for paid rent while living in inhabitable conditions as well as damage to my vehicle in turn The Johnson Law Group knew my Landlord wasn't obligated to respond to the letter and failed to note in the terms and agreement which made this entire agreement ineffective and a waste of money. I have asked for a complete return of my retainer fee because I wasn't adequately advised that they couldn't provide me with court counsel because the attorney *************************** said they were not barred in MD. She even agreed to refer me to another law firm for court representation. I questioned her a lot because I was worried about the contract and wanted to know more about what I was hiring you for, but the contract didn't outline the full range of your services. Nevertheless, she assured me that the contract was comprehensive and covered all bases, so I didn't need to be concerned. I then discovered that they were unable to service the MD region and that you were aware that my case required more assistance than a demand letter, which was unlikely to be successful. Since I'm not a lawyer, I thought I was in excellent hands, yet I was duped, and my money was stolen. I am asking for a complete return of the $500 I spent due to poor transparency with the agreement, communications and unprofessionalism. I have since fired them due to emotional distress and lies. They stole my money and owe my $500 as promised in the agreement.
