On April 19, I contacted Robert ******* N************ to review a list of contractor work and share a proposal with me. He was supposed to come see the job on April 21, he failed and then rescheduled for the next day. He came on April 22 at 11am and we reviewed the work I was interested in getting done. He shared a quote and I amended his list on ****** docs. This document (black ink) is the final list of items that he agreed to complete and the price and language shared for the contract. Contractor shared a draft on April 23, finalized and signed on April 27 on the agreed upon start date for home improvement work. I paid the $2000 deposit. On April 28, he made excuses for why he was not at the house doing the work. For example, I have a text proving that I checked in the morning to see where he was as no workers had arrived. He said he was working on my screens. Then 1.5 hours later, one of his workers, Ben, came to my house to measure screens. He clearly was not picking up screens if he didn't have the measurements. This pattern was evident in his showing up late and disappearing in the day to not return. I assume this is why the job took longer than the couple of days he proposed. I have text proof. I also have a recording of the final conversation that I had on Friday May, 13 when I called to inform the contractor that I had given him enough chances and feedback to fix the work over the past 3 weeks (please note he stated the job would take 2 days and I was flexible). Upon alleged completion based on a text sent on May 13 at 8am, most tasks were not completed and Mike shared many excuses as to why they could not be completed. He threatened to sue me on the call and I just wanted to be done with the situation. I also want to ensure protection for any further damage due to how he inadequately serviced my home.
