I am currently renting a space in ************, **. The address is ********************************************************************************. *****. Last month I tried to move out at the end of the month. I was told that 3 days notice was not given. I remain paid until the 28th of June 2024. I was also advised they could not enter the space because the door was pulled down closed. I've left several messages and tried to enter my space; there is another lock on it. Another location said I checked out on June 1, 2024. This location is a few miles from the location where I rent. How can you double rent, and also enter the space they said they could not? All while still paid. The word criminal comes to mind. Zero stars was not an option.Review from Constantin M

I was a client for 5 years with the ************ facility. I changed units to a bigger one and I did not have a code to get in. I was given a management code by an employee I used for 2 years. When I asked the new manager *************************** for a code she became very upset and demanded that I resolve the issue "now" I was on the way to a client and politely asked to reschedule for another hour or so. She started screaming and demanded that I stop the car and go to the office. I drove off and came back 1 hour later. She started screaming at me and i was not able to have a conversation or obtain a code. I emptied my unit and left a 1 1-star ****** review. ******* took my personal information from Self-storage Plus system and my company info. She had her Fiance ***************************** put a 1-star ****** review on my business C ***************** IT Services) claiming we conduct Business and he pertained to having a bad experience. That review Defame my company. My company had lost business based on a fake review.It's sad to see an employee of this company taking my personal information and retaliating.Review from Cee K

This storage company does not send out invoices each month as other businesses do. There is no reminder or a bill of any kind. You are unable to pay your bill ahead of time. What kind of sense does that make? You must wait until the VERY DATE THAT THE BILL IS DUE TO PAY IT UNLESS YOU ARE ON AUTO PAY. I have had storage for most of my life and I am 64 years old. This is the worst storage company that I have ever used. THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THESE PEOPLE.Review from Deborah F

They raise the rent by at least $60 every 6 months, don’t like it , move out. Mice, moths constantly. Nothing is done to warrant an increase in rates.Review from Joseph B

I stored a couch and other items here over the summer. Rodents got into my unit and left droppings on many of my items. The couch was ruined, as were a trash can and some clothing. The management seemed completely unphased when I informed them of this, and just handed me a brochure for the insurance I bought when setting up the lease. I asked if I could throw the ruined items in their dumpster. They said no, and I had to hire third-party junk haulers to get rid of the couch. There are also rodent traps everywhere in this facility. Clearly this is a known problem that the management or company refuse to deal with properly. Do not store your stuff here unless you want to feed it to rats.Review from Tracy G

DO NOT USE THE ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA EISENHOWER LOCATION!! I've been a customer of this storage location for 11 years. In August of 2022, I noticed my credit card had not been charged for the service. Immediately, in August, I proactively called to find out why and settle up my account. In that conversation Shawn Smith, their new manager did nothing but complain and had zero customer service skills. I asked for the $116 rate for up to 6 months for being a loyal, proactive customer in good standing, he said he couldn't authorize but that he would have to check and get back to me in 5 days, I'm still waiting for his return call. September bill came, still no response from Shawn, and no charge on my credit card. I called and left messages another 4 times before I eventually received Stephen Appien, a nice young man that understood customer service. Stephen said he couldn't authorize but would speak to his DM, I asked that the DM call me, the DM at the time Danielle Vasco, again, no return call from the DM. I once again called, Stephen answered, and I was informed that now Calvin Revera was the DM, and asked Stephen to have Calvin call me, 2 weeks went by no call, I called Stephen again, Stephen wrote another email to Calvin, who was supposed to call me that following Monday, and still nothing. Very long story short, I've been waiting to communicate with someone with authority for 3 months now, and all I get is a messenger, Stephen trying to do what he can, but nothing from any DM. Simultaneously, I've received numerous threatening texts, emails and voicemail messages about an overdue invoice and auctioning of my property. Today, I sent an email and left a message with the general "contact information" on the site, we shall see if I receive a response. Given the horrible lack of respect and customer service that I've received from Storage Plus, my request is not out of line. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH STORAGE PLUS.Review from Stacey S.

This company has raised my unit (Storage) Every six months I never signed anything stated my prices would increase every six months. These changes are done 30 days prior and you call and the constantly state price increase and there is nothing they can do. I had this unit since 2019 and the rate has increased 8 times. This is not fair! The other storage companies in the surrounding areas has not increase and if so no more then 10.00. Please do not rent a storage unit from them. Its hard when you are constantly traveling and have to worry about constant price gouging. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM SELF STORAGE PLUS (Owings Mills and other Areas). Please!!!Review from Deikals L

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS I’ve been using your service for a while and your management and employees think it is ok for random things to go missing or tempered with in my locked unit…. So bad that I have to use three locks. Getting upset causes your manager Tina DAMRON the audacity to call the cops on me about inappropriate behavior and evicted without proper court fillings. I HAVE HAD TO COMPLAIN TO THE COPS OVER FIVE DIFFERENT INCIDENTS SOMETIMES CALLING THEM MYSELF OVER THIS HARASSMENT.. YOU ARE WELCOME TO FOLLOW UP WITH OFC.s HUNGARTER OR SKIPPReview from Indya M

I've been down financially for a little while because I had to take a medical leave from work. When I originally owed money it was around the amount of $250. I was told, I was going into auction status and I wouldn't be able to make partial payments so I went up to the facility and spoke with somebody that told me I would be okay for at least 2 days. I was also told that they would honor it because he put a note in the system and I wasn't even supposed to go into auction status yet. When the day came for me to pay, I got an email from the day before, that said I was already in auction status. My amount went from $250 to $400. Now I just paid $530 to get my unit out of auction status and nobody gave me any explanation as to why I was put into auction status 2 days early. Nobody is willing to work with me and when I called today to make my payment, I think his name was Alexander, I asked him for the corporate number and he called me by my name and told me I was going to have to find it myself. I don't like how self storage plus in Beltsville does business!! They put people into auction status early and get extra money off of them that I already don't have to spend. I have lots more important bills to pay that I cannot pay now because of the amount of money I had to pay to self storage plus. That Beltsville location, is going down ever since that woman left. There was a really nice woman who used to be the manager of that location and ever since she left, I have gotten the blues from this company. I'm looking for compensation. I wasn't even supposed to be in auction status and because of that I couldn't make any partial payments, which I could have gotten the day that I needed it if he would have told me that. I'm so disgusted by this business and the people who work there that I will continue to complain until my needs are met.
