We had a creak in our brand new house that is under year warrantee. They came to fix it over 2 months ago and after 4/5 texts asking when the painter or drywall people will be out to fix the holes in our basement ceiling, all I get it “I’ll figure that out for you”. Other people in the neighborhood are in the same boat and said their ceilings still aren’t fixed from 6 months ago. They never came back to fix the issues from the final walk through and there is paint on our new carpets and around the baseboards from careless work. This house was almost $400000 and the craftsmanship is of $250000- definitely not made with love and their customer service has been absolutely terrible. This is my house! I see these issues every day and it sickens me that no one is taking the time to address what needs to be fixed. I am most nervous for the 11 month fixes. We send them a list of what needs to be fixed and they have 30 days to complete it. What happens when they don’t do that and now it’s 6 months later and the contract is over. When do these issues ever plan on being fixed??

We moved in July 2021 to our home by Salt air. We are still waiting for repairs but our side walk, drive way and porch are crumbling. It started crumbling over Christmas with the snow and it's getting very bad to point where it's getting in eyes. We have complained and said it needs replacing because poor quality and we had a letter to say they are not taking responsibility for it.

Salt Air homes is disappointed to hear about your complaint. Our goal always is to build a quality home with good customer service. There was a test conducted on the concrete that proved that the concrete failed as a direct result of the application of raw rock salt during snow and ice removal. The granular rock salt unfortunately damages the concrete by increasing water absorption which, because of the freeze-thaw cycle, causes cracking and damage or spalling to its surface. These are the exact conditions that your pictures demonstrate. As explained to you there are safe salts that should be used when trying to clear snow and ice off of concrete sidewalks and driveways. Calcium Magnesium is often considered the finest concrete-safe ice melt solutions available on the market. Products like calcium magnesium are important to use because they are much less corrosive than a number of other ice salts. It was determined that there was nothing structurally wrong with the concrete and that the problems were 100% surface related. Salt Air Homes even applies a concrete sealer after installation to help protect the concrete into the future. The sealer unfortunately does not protect the concrete from harmful effects from the application of rook salts.

If you could kindly upload the report and testing that you supposedly did that would be great? Because nobody came out to test the concrete and nobody but your hired company for HOA layed down salt or the street when this happened. It's also been happening to other developments you have done.

Salt Air Homes is the builder that built the home that my wife and I purchased September 29, 2021. We haven't even been here a full year. We've had roofing shingles blow off the front of our house. We called the builder and after numerous phone calls to the builder and the roofer who did the installation Salt Air sent someone out to replace the missing shingles. My wife and I were told that the shingles used on our roof were "defective". Now less then a month ago during heavy rain the back portion of our roof was leaking heavily. I had water literally pouring out of my recessed lights in my kitchen and a trail of damaged sheetrock and popped seam tape in my kitchen ceiling. Numerous phone calls to Salt Air, no return call by them. Now I just spoke to one of their representatives today and was told they don't intend to do anything. My home is less then 6 years old and this roof has a 30 year warranty. So now I've got all this damage in my home and a builder who will not step up and take responsibility for it.

Sal Air Homes is disappointed.to hear about your complaint. The facts are as follows.: The new house was constructed for the original buyer. You purchased the house not from Salt Air Homes but directly from the first owner almost 6 years after it was built. There was no contractual agreement between you and Salt Air Homes. Our standard warranty language like most builders protects the first owner of the house for the first year of ownership. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for repairs on the house after almost 6 years of being in service. As the builder of the house, we would not know how the house has been maintained and if there were any prior problems with the roof during the ownership of the house over the first 6 years. For example, we would not know if the roof had been damaged in a storm and had been repaired. Unfortunately, it is not industry standard for the builder to make a 6-year-old repair on a house that has a second owner. The first owner had an 11 month walk through and the roof was never mentioned as a potential problem. The best we could do at the time was put you in touch with the contractor who did the original roof installation which is exactly what we did. We apologize but Salt Air Homes just could not take responsibility for the repairs after the house was built over six years ago and you did not buy the house directly from us.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my  issue.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Regardless of your statement about my family being the second owner of this 6 year old home. A roof is supposed to have a 15 to 30 year warranty which should not be vacated due to the home being sold. This roof also has no damage from moment build was completed. My home is in an open development with no mature trees. Salt Air builders has had numerous complaints from consumers who have purchased their homes due to substandard building practices. **In order for the bureau to continue to assist you, you MUST provide your view on the matter or your complaint will be closed as answered. I bought a home from Salt Air Builders in Oct 2021. I have one year to report any problems or items that need to be fixed in the home. One of the items I reported to Salt Air Builders was the sink in my half bath was cut into my door frame and it was done poorly. The side splash was not installed properly which caused the inexperienced laborer to cut into the door frame. The door frame was cut poorly and paint is every as well. Salt Air considers this poor workmanship acceptable and has refused to correct the sink side splash and door frame.
