I do not like anything about ECC. Ed Coote Jr. came out to my property on 06/03/2024. I told him that I had a party scheduled for 06/18/2024 and he assured me that the pool would be done by then. He drew up a contract/invoice that day and I paid half of the total immediately on 06/03 ($2124.13) with the final payment of $2124.13 due upon completion. The only work he did between 06/03 and 07/04/2024 was to call 811 for utility marking. I, however, had to call 811 myself to clarify the delay and got them out to the property the following day. Throughout this time, communication from Edward was sparse, to say the least. Although I sent numerous texts and made numerous phone calls, the only time I got any communication from him was when I would send a text stating that I was looking to get another contractor. On 06/18/2024, his response to me was rude, threatening, and unprofessional, stating that I did not have the right to go to someone else because we had a contract, even though he was already in breach due to not even starting the job a week after his projected completion date. I have since scheduled a new contractor who is much more professional, and my pool will be complete and filled by 07/09/2024. When I sent the final text to Edward on the morning of 07/04/2024, he responded that my deposit was non-refundable (I will be getting it back anyway, with or without his cooperation.) He stated that he had done work by meeting with me and calling 811, so I am in the wrong. Completely ridiculous. It is obvious to me that Mr. Coote does not understand contract law. To anyone reading this, I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere if you actually want your job done. I am sad that I need to post this, but I feel that I have a responsibility to keep others from making the same mistake I did. He talks a great game, but words are just words. Don't believe it.
