I am submitting a formal complaint about, Old Wood Delaware, a furniture company that we did business with on July 2nd. We purchased a dining room table for $2,750. This table consists of a rectangular glass top supported by 4 individual wooden pillars. We were also told that we had to leave a $1,000 deposit for an additional custom table that we were considering ordering. We also paid for freight in advance, which we were told was $400.00. The total sum of the transaction was $4,150.00. The transaction was done over the phone but no paperwork was ever provided even though it was requested repeatedly. Almost immediately after making the payment for the purchase of the table we decided to cancel the custom table only to be told that our $1,000 deposit was non-refundable. No work had been done on the proposed table. Again, we never received any paperwork and this policy was never communicated to us as both of these transactions were conducted over the phone. We finally received the dining room table on August 25, 2023 but all 4 legs of the table that the glass top sits on are severely damaged (photos available). We have attempted to contact Old Wood to resolve this issue, but they have not responded to our requests. When they do pick up the phone they are belligerent, defensive and condescending. Please contact me to let me know how to resolve this issue. We need our $1,000 deposit back along with any additional money it will take to repair or replace the damaged legs. As of now, we have a quote for approx. $2000 from a reputable furniture restoration company to provide that service. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
